Tiger Woods flew into Europe yesterday and quickly made it clear how important he regards this week's Open at Royal Troon, writes Andy Farrell.
Woods, the 5-1 favourite for the tournament which starts on Thursday, said: "I'm looking forward to the week. The British Open is the best tournament of them all. I don't care about the pressure on me. I have my own expectations about how I will do."
Woods was in Valderrama where he and several other members of the US team were inspecting the course on which September's Ryder Cup match will be played. After completing his round Woods immediately retired to bed saying he did not feel well.
