THE GRAND predictions made for Coulton's future at the start of the season continue to trip him up. Mick Easterby's gelding fell at the second in Nottingham's novice chase yesterday, the third time in seven outings over fences that he has failed to complete.
Mark Dwyer, his jockey, missed the rest of the meeting as a result of the fall, and optimism deserted him as he assessed Coulton's truncated performance. 'He jumped to the right a bit at the first and then appeared to get unsighted at the second, but he never really made an attempt to jump it to be honest,' Dwyer said. 'His confidence now seems to have gone and Mick is thinking about putting him back over hurdles.'
