Sir: As Kelvin MacKenzie, editor of the Sun, finds it his duty to make known in his paper all transgressions by public figures, may we inquire why he did not feel it necessary at the time of the election to publish the fact that a Conservative minister had approached him with libellous tales about Paddy Ashdown?
It is, undoubtedly, in the public interest that such a minister not only be named but also resign as minister and an MP. The public has no wish to be represented by a man seeking power through such discreditable means.
Mr MacKenzie seems to hold himself out as a public figure, perhaps he will disclose to us whether or not he is a hypocrite.
Yours faithfully,
R. A. PARSONS
