- Metriacanthosauridae ("metriakantosauridi") byla čeleď středně velkých až obřích masožravých dinosaurů (teropodů) z nadčeledi Allosauroidea, žijících v období střední jury až spodní křídy (asi před 176 až 135 miliony let). Jejich fosilie známe pouze z území současné Evropy a Asie (zejména Číny a Thajska). (cs)
- Čeleď Sinraptoridae byla skupinou relativně velkých dravých dinosaurů (teropodů), z nichž někteří dosahovali délky až kolem 11 metrů. Sinraptoridé byli středně až pozdně jurští predátoři a dříve byli mnozí z nich řazeni do čeledí Megalosauridae nebo Allosauridae. Poslední kladistickou definici této skupiny vypracoval v roce 2005 americký paleontolog Paul Sereno. Je pravděpodobné, že z této skupiny vychází předkové nebo blízcí příbuzní předků alosauridů. Het betreft middelgrote tot grote roofsauriërs uit de Jura van Europa en Azië. Mogelijke andere soorten zijn Szechuanosaurus zigongensis, Shidaisaurus, Sinraptor en Siamotyrannus. Een familie Sinraptoridae werd in 1993 door Phil Currie gecreëerd om aan om Sinraptor dongi een plaats te geven. De eerste definitie als klade werd gegeven door Padian in 1997: alle Allosauroidea die dichter bij Sinraptor dan bij Allosaurus staan. Die definitie was niet erg exact omdat zij afhangt van de invulling van Allosauroidea. In 1998 maakte Paul Sereno dezelfde fout toen hij haar nog eens inperkte door ook Cryolophosaurus, Monolophosaurus en Carcharodontosaurus uit te sluiten. Holtz gaf in 2004 een exacte iets ruimere definitie: de groep bestaande uit alle soorten nauwer verwant aan Sinraptor dongi dan aan Allosaurus fragilis of Carcharodontosaurus saharicus.
