- فيروس سابو هو جنس من الفيروسات ضمن عائلة حيث يعمل كل من الخنازير والبشر بمثابة مضيف طبيعي لهذه الفيروسات. ويوجد حالياً فصيلة واحدة من هذا الجنس وهي فيروس سابو.يعد فيروس سابو هم الأسباب الأكثر شهرة لالتهاب المعدة والأمعاء الحاد في البالغين، وعلى عكس فيروسات نورو فإنه عادةً ما تسبب فيروسات سابو التهاب بسيط في المعدة والأمعاء للصغار. وتمت تسمية الفيروس بهذا الاسم تيمناً بسابورو في اليابان حيث تم اكتشاف الفيروس لأول مرة بعد اندلاع التهاب المعدة والأمعاء في الأطفال بدار الأيتام. - El virus Sapporo es un virus perteneciente a la familia Calicivirus que provoca gastroenteritis en humanos. El primer aislamiento se realizó en 1977 en un orfanato de la ciudad de Sapporo en Japón, en el que se había producido un brote de gastroenteritis que afectó a numerosos niños. Posteriormente se ha detectado la presencia del virus en otros lugares de Japón, así como en Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Arabia Saudí, Sudáfrica, Kenia, Australia y Finlandia, por lo que se considera que está distribuido por todo el mundo. El virus Sapporo, conjuntamente con el virus de Norwalk con el que está emparentado, son una de las causas más frecuentes de gastroenteritis en humanos. (es)
- Sapovirus is a genetically diverse genus of single-stranded positive-sense RNA, non-enveloped viruses within the family Caliciviridae. Together with norovirus, sapoviruses are the most common cause of acute gastroenteritis (commonly called the "stomach flu" although it is not related to influenza) in humans and animals. It is a monotypic taxon containing only one species, the Sapporo virus. Natural hosts for the virus are humans and swine. The virus is transmitted through oral/fecal contact. Sapovirus commonly occurs in children and infants and therefore is often spread in nurseries and daycares; however, it has also been found in long-term care facilities. This could be due to a lack of personal hygiene and sanitation measures. Common symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting. The sapovirus was initially discovered in an outbreak of gastroenteritis in an orphanage in Sapporo, Japan, in 1977. (en)
