Special characters in queries
When searching for materials published on the website, you can use special characters to construct your query as precisely as possible. Make sure you do not add a space between a special character and the query string.
|Use this character (vertical slash – shift+\ on the Roman alphabet keyboard) between words (word|word) to find a mention of at least one of the listed words. You can list more than two words.
Example: G20|Group of Twenty
-Use the hyphen character before the term to exclude all documents containing it from the search results.
Example: G20 -summit
=Use this symbol (the equal character) to search for materials where the term is in the stated (or very similar) grammatical form.
Example: if you are searching for materials on a ten-year anniversary, the query string should be 10=year anniversary: 10=year
“If a phrase is enclosed in quotes, the search results will produce materials containing only this combination of words in this particular order. Strait double quotes should be placed on either side of the word – "word"
Example: "Russian bear"
