The Darkness were up to their usual cheeky antics.

"I have to say, we probably are the best British group," said the band's frontman Justin Hawkins on picking up one award.

He turned up in a silver catsuit and angel wings to accept another.

But best British male and best British female, Daniel Bedingfield and Dido, couldn't make the ceremony at London's Earls Court.

Dido sent a video message and Daniel accepted his award on the phone, after host Cat Deeley gave him a call!
