Diane (Susan Anton) has two loves in her life...her boyfriend and her dog, Harry. However, when she thinks her dog might be sick, she takes it to a vet her boyfriend recommended. Inexplicably, however, the vet wants to euthanize the dog...saying it is terminally ill...even though it seems happy and not sick in any serious way. Oddly, despite it being her great love, she doesn't seek a second opinion and does what the vet recommends. And, of course, there's a twist! Unfortunately, however, the twist really makes no sense at all.
I am a dog lover...but that's not why I disliked this episode. No, the problem is that the twist is not logical at all. This makes no sense to kill a dog or tell someone you're going to kill the dog for the reasons they did in the show. Nonsense, I say. And, her reaction and HOW she knew about the vet...all this is confusing to say the least. One of the worst episodes of the new series.
By the way, the summary says Harry is a Bearded Collie. I've had five of them and Harry clearly is NOT a Beardie. Instead, he appears to be an Old English Sheepdog or an Old English mix. The bobbed tail, coat and generally build just aren't that of a Bearded Collie. The two breeds are somewhat similar looking, so I can see why they made a mistake on breeds.
