As this is happening, Cuddy's mother shows up, promising a law suit for treatment on her knees. Of course, this is only part of the story. Back to our new millionaire. A woman matching the description of his long-lost love shows up and begins to play him. Because she is from the deep past, he falls for it.
Thirteen realizes the scam and warns him of these types that read about financial success and go after the guy.
The tension between House and Cuddy continues.

Dr. Gregory House: It'll end horribly.
Dr. Remy 'Thirteen' Hadley: Not for him. She make take all his money. He may be a naive idiot. But he'll always be hopeful. So he'll always be happy.
Dr. Gregory House: You lost your mother. Euthanized your brother. You have the life expectancy of a pretty good sit com. If you can convince yourself that you'll be miserable no matter what, even without all that stuff, maybe you don't have to hate the universe for dumping a giant turd on you. Fatalism is your survival mechanism.
