Dominic Thiem suffers surprise defeat to Robin Haase at Gerry Weber Open in Germany

Dominic Thiem was a surprise big-name casualty at the Gerry Weber Open in Germany as the Austrian was beaten by Robin Haase.
Thiem, the Austrian world No 8, struggled to break Haase's resistance throughout the encounter and succumbed 6-3 7-6 (9-7) to the world No 42.
Haase will now face Richard Gasquet in the quarter-finals of the tournament after the Frenchman secured a comfortable 6-3 6-3 victory over Australia's Bernard Tomic in the opening match of the day.
Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev, the world No 12, saw off another German in Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-3 6-4 to underline his credentials on the grass courts ahead of Wimbledon.
The 20-year-old, who lost in the first round at the French Open last month, never looked in trouble and did not face a single break point on his serve during the match.
Home favourite and grass court specialist Dustin Brown lost to Roberto Bautista Agut in a hard-fought match which the Spaniard took on a final set tie-break.
Brown, who was looking to set up an encounter with compatriot Zverev, lost 4-6 6-1 6-7 (6-8) to the world No 19.
