1977-2024
Founded by legendary tattooer and artist Don Ed Hardy, the first incarnation of Tattoo City opened its doors in 1977. The crew upheld the same standards of excellence and trend-setting qualities that characterized Ed Hardy’s career. A fresh interpretations of world art traditions, work that is truly “Way out but classic”.

Publications
Hardy Marks Publications was founded in 1982, by Don Ed Hardy and Francesca Passalacqua. Hardy Marks has published more than 40 books about tattoos, tattoo art and tattoo history, many of which are highly sought-after collectors items.
Paintings
A Southern California native born in 1945, Hardy completed a B.F.A. degree in printmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute. In 2000 he received an honorary doctorate from SFAI. His focus now is on painting, printmaking, and works in other media that have been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally.
