The Carolina Panthers said goodbye toAdrian Wilson, the former vice president of player personnel.
In a move first reported Sunday by Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, Wilson is moving on after only 18 months with the Panthers.
“Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers,” a team spokesperson told Pro Football Talk on Sunday morning. “Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”
The Athletic's Joe Person confirmed the reports Sunday afternoon.
The Athletic also reported Wilson was arrestedon three domestic violence-related charges in Scottsdale, Arizona, during the early morning hours of June 1.
Wilson, a High Point, North Carolina, native billed his hiring with the Panthers in February 2023 as a homecoming.
Between 2001 and 2012, Adrian Wilson made significant contributions as a top-rated safety for the Arizona Cardinals, earning a well-deserved place in the Cardinals Ring of Honor. After retiring, he dedicated four seasons to scouting in Arizona, serving as a regional scout for two seasons, then progressing to director of pro scouting for another two seasons followed by two seasons as the V.P. of pro scouting. Notably, he took on the role of interim co-general manager after the 2022 season, stepping in after Steve Keim's departure.
Since David Tepper bought the team in 2018, Carolina has gone 31-68 and failed to make the NFL playoffs.
