Nice educational tips wits some humour. Somewhat this is parody mix of survival TV-shows with some CGDCT (as we see comic situations when girls react on "realistic" gross things).

From all I know - this show is the most centered on survival thematics than some another. If You like living in nature, camping, survival - give it a try.

Best survival anime ever.

Quirky survivalist excuse for some fanservice but which was actually very informative and good in comedic value! Oh and its half length.

This is a weird one, made me changed my perception on it many times over. It's cute, yet its gross - cute girls in lingerie on the beach eating/doing gross stuff to survive. It's arousing, yet its tense - yes girls half naked but in dreadful survival situation. Then it hit me that it was fun and full of interesting survival knowledge that's actually real (I researched). And as I spent more time with the girls on the island I grew to enjoy their comedic survival antics and their warm friendship, I looked forward towards their next grossly arousing and cute fanservie. And finally it ended; cutely, happy & hopeful.

Gosh I really hope for a S2, wanna make sure those precious girls made it home safe.

Highly rec'ed, its short bite size ep, yet packed with useful survival info and yet it's light & cute at the same time. 7/10 for me! Stay strong!

The motto of this anime is "In conditions of survival, it’s not a shame to crap".
...
When I stumbled upon this series, I thought about the next fan service ...crap, of which there are already thousands and from which I am already sick. But no, it turned out, surprisingly, a very funny story. Yes, nonsense does happen, the fan service is present, but it all looks so insignificant (and simply fits the surroundings of those thrown to the island) that you can skip criticism. I can’t say that this is a great comedy anime, since monotonous simplicity and girlish pampering are gradually boring, but even for watching it one fo laughing and fun it is good.

The premise sounds like a ridiculous excuse for ecchi/fanservice, and the show manages to deliver a fair bit of that, but the comedy is really good when they utilize it, as are the oftentimes unconventional tricks of survival. It's quite straightforward, entertaining from beginning to end, quirkily informative, and lots of simple fun. Homare carries the show pretty much entirely on her own, but the show wouldn't shine if it weren't for the other cast members who offset her aloof survivalism with rather natural disgusted (or impressed) responses depending on the trick of the week. Well worth it for fans of adventure, "girls being girls" (but not "cute"), survivalism, or aloof comedic delivery that is vaguely reminiscent of Fumoffu.

Imagine a group of four schoolgirls lost in a deserted island. Imagine that three of the girls are sheltered crybabys left to die. Now imagine that the fourth girl is... well, simply put, Bear Grylls disguised as a hot, rugged schoolgirl, who leads the group to survival. Think about that for a second.

More than an anime version of "Man vs Wild", this is a story, full of comedy, about teamwork and friendship. Each episode features the girls doing or learning something new as part of their day-to-day living on the island. The plot in itself is pretty straightfoward, no unnecessary drama. The half-length episode format is ideal, because there is only so much the girls can do without recurring to fantasy. Animation was decent and Mao's work was sublime, playing the "cool and colected, always calm"-type character.

Overall, a good series in my opinion. "JK vs Wild" should be its title. Highly recommended.

A series of short (hall-lenght) episodes of about 12 min. in the "slice of life" genre. Since it deals with survival techniques, it ends up resembling a school club series, except that instead of taking place in a school, the action takes place on a deserted (or abandoned) island.

Four high school students are shipwrecked after a plane crashes during a high school trip and end up on a small island with no idea where they are. While they wait for an eventual rescue team to come looking for them, they will have to stay alive. Luckily, one of them learned survival techniques in her childhood from her father and now applies them, teaching the others how to do it.

The animation is good, without being anything extraordinary or original, denoting many of the "cliches" characteristics of anime with high school girls. The scenarios are also reasonable. The strength of the series lies in the simple script, but which works very well when seasoned with "gags" and jokes that take advantage of the contrast between the rawness and primitivism of Onishima Homare's survival techniques and the urban, "coquette" culture of the rest of the girls. Hilarious situations of shock, amazement, disgust, and repulsion are accompanied by the girls' evolving self-confidence and self-maintenance as they overcome their daily challenges on the island.

In the good japanese way, is given some relevance to spicy situations and fetishes, such as breast sizes, girls' underwear, and even "golden rain". It is up to the subjective taste of each spectator to appreciate or not this kind of feature. Personally I think it depends on the nature of the ainimes (it makes perfect sense in Hentais or Romcoms, but a bit forced in others).

Last epsiode hard-core scene
One of the most "hard-core" scenes happens in the last episode when it becomes necessary for two characters, in order to survive and not die of dehydration, to ingest water. It turns out that the water is contained by bat feces (which is highly contagious and spreads dangerous viruses). Since they cannot drink it and cannot boil it, the only solution is to allow the water to be absorbed through the colon. To do this, they fill their mouths with water and place them in each other's anus. The description may indeed be strong (depends on one's fetishes) although the animation is not explicit (or we would be talking about a genre other than "slice of life").


All in all, it's a series worth watching and with some good-natured moments.
