Animation:
The animation on this was pretty cool, it's all CGI like the two Final Fantasy animes and is done really well. Altho at times it seems like they have trouble conveying decent facial expresions other then that there isn't much I can say about it.
Sound:
The second best thing about the whole anime was the sound. The voices are well done and the DVD even has the option to have an "american soundtrack" with bands like Fear Factor instead of the original soundtrack. Both versions are good, but I have to say I think the american soundtrack is better, but the japenese voice acting is better, sadly you can't choose those together.
Story:
The story really disapointed me, I expected it to be a sequel to Galerians or Galerians: Ash, but watching it it felt more like someone had taking all the cinematics from the original Galerians game and turned them into the DVD.(maybe I'm wrong, I never finished Galerians and my copy of Galerians: Ash got stolen before I could play it, but with what I had played and heard from friends and the way the movie plays that's how it seemed)
Character:
The charecters felt kind of stale to me. You have 2 heros, and 5 villains. Oh and you have a drug dealer who is pretty much there just to bring in some aspects of the game to the anime. None of the charectors really develop, Rion does near the end a little bit and whenever a villian dies you get a small glance at the inner workings of thier mind, but it's not enough to really save the charectors in my opinion.
Value:
I got this DVD from the columbia house dvd club as one of my free selections and I think it was worth it. Honestly I could not see paying more then maybe $5 for the DVD if you've never played the games, $10 if you played them a bit but weren't that big into them or $15 if you own all the Galerians games and have beat them multiple times each.
Enjoyment:
Overall I didn't really enjoy this anime, I watched it twice(once dubbed with american soundtrack and once subbed with japenese soundtrack) and I don't think I made it all the way thru the second time before I became tired of it and put it away. I haven't even touched the box since the day that I opened it and watched it and I probably won't until I move or maybe 3 or 4 years past and I forget most of it.
Final Thoughts:
If you absolutely love the Galerians games, buy this cheap or maybe just borrow it from a friend, if you liked the Galerians games see it if you can for free otherwise your not missing much. If you've never heard of Galerians I would really recommend finding a copy of the first game on Playstation or Galerians: Ash on PS2 instead of watching this.
