Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were a big part of my childhood. I still remember watching them at TV and my father getting every Saturday a VHS tape of
the show (I STILL have them, intact too ^___^) and I was watching it first, THEN I went to table :P (yeah, ok, I can't say I feel proud for saying it...),
meaning that I learned how to use the VHS player, a skill that not most of my friends had at that age :D. It also had some kind of educational value
for me (where the fuck you think most of the kids back in the 80s and the 90s learned about Renaissance and some of its most renowned artists?).I put it
next to Marvel comic books, Transformers, Dragonball and Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Beast Wars, Road Runner and Will E. Coyote, Thundercats, Star Wars,
Doom, Dungeon Master, and a few more stuff the stuff that put a mark at my life and I grew up and loved, still love and will love in the future.
At 2003, a new TMNT series came out, and it was MILES AWAY from the original series. They added story arcs and personalities to the turtles, something
that the old one didn't have among other things. It was kinda cool, but I prefer the one I grew up. And at 2009, "Turtles Forever", a TV special, came out
and puts both old and new Turtles together and we get an appearance of the original TMNT from Eastman's comic book series too (which was kinda violent and came out
before the 80s series). For you, who grew up and loved TMNT, you should definetly download and see it.
After that little introduction, let's move with this review. What we gonna see here is an OVA that was released in Japan only. I heard about the turtles being
released in Japan and so, I searched high and low about anything that was in Japan only and one day I saw here in anidb.net this OVA. After reading roriconfan's
review 'bout this, I was like "Hey, it can't be that bad! It's TMNT, for the love of fuck!". So, I downloaded it, watched it and... What can I say? It sucked ass
so hard that I couldn't believe it. I felt like the Angry Video Game Nerd in terms of nerdrage. This was simply not only an atrocity of the whole TMNT franchise,
but also one of the worst things ever. I can compare it with Waterworld, Super Mario Bros (the movie), Twilight (of course we shouldn't forget that), Uwe Boll Movies
,Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for the NES and *glup* Dragonball Evolution! Where should i begin then...
With the most basic, of course: the story. Our beloved turtles found some kind of magic stones, called the mutastones, which enables the turtles to transform into
the Super Turtles for 3 minutes. If that's not bad enough, when combined together they form VOLTRON!... eeeeh, oops, sorry, i meant SAINT TURTLE!!!! Also, Shredder and Co.
discover the dark mutastones that transforms them too... As you can see, it's your average shounen fighting ass-story, with all the fukcing cliches and stereotypes
that you can imagine. They also made it be even more goofier than the original series from what I can possibly remember.
The animation is in the same quality as the original series and it looks like it was from the 80s without even thinking too much 'bout it. The voice acting was something
I couldn't even stand for a minute. Also, they didn't even inlude the fucking theme song!! Yeah, instead it's your average stupid-ass type of music that you listen
in most anime back in those days. Like, at least have it, even in the credits.
We see all the TMNT characters from the show. The turtles, their master Splinter, April, Shredder(even if he is not the one that I remember), Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang,
but it still doesn't save this piece of shit from being called a piece of shit. They don't develop them as much as they should, and they act like goofs, even Shredder!
Conclusion: DO NOT WATCH IT!!!! It's a such an atrocious monstrocity that humanity released and submitted itself into gazing upon thee. Stay away! Stay away as far as
possible! Especially the big TMNT fans such as me.
