Kamikura Hiroki was expected to become an artist when entering high school, but for some reason he gave up painting. Now, as a college student at the Nadeshiko Academy, he is studying to become a teacher. He also works as a substitute teacher for the art club of the same academy's high school division.
One day, his cousin, Housen Elis, visits him. Her art talent was recognised by the academy, and she received a scholarship. Ever since she lost her parents as a child, she rejected reality, and it was only thanks to Hiroki, opening her mind to the world again, that her talent blossomed. Therefore she is very upset that he quit painting, and wants him to start painting again.
Meanwhile, Kikyou Kiri, Hiroki's childhood friend, is appointed physical education teacher at the high school. Kiri confessed her love to Hiroki when they were still in high school, but he refused her. They have not seen each other in a long time. At first, they do not get along well, but gradually, they begin to remember their bitter-sweet young love. Seeing both of them, Elis realises how very much she loves Hiroki...

I originally played the Visual Novel of this, then watched the anime directly afterwords. Most of the character's personalities have been very watered down, if not totally changed, from the VN. The drama on the other hand was pumped up in the anime.
I will recommend this anime for all you shoujo fans out there, because it was pretty good on it's own. I'll leave a little asterisk though saying "If you enjoy this show, play the VN. The characters have much stronger, more intricate, and memorable personalities, and their stories are much better told."

Its a slow paced anime with focus on art and romance. Good twists and story but dont look at what happens after the credits of the last episode.

Pace in this anime is very tepid. Could've been a 13 ep series, but they stuck a good amount of filler eps. Don't go looking for things to make much sense after the midway point. Make sure you stay past the credits for the huge wtf moment. The ending was just out of the blue and non sensical. Overall a 6.5 and well deserved.

A very slow paced anime. Not bad not good either. Its OK because some parts of the plot are dull. Watch it if you don-t have anything else to see. You won-t be dissapointed nor amazed either.

The series as a whole is good, there are times during it that you would like to strangle certain characters, but the overall plot makes up for it.
The last episode however is a bit of a face palm...

Adapted from the hentai/ero-game, still with most of the elements intact (harem setting etc). Fortunately the story goes deeper here even tho it for me personally wasn't enough. There are better ones with lower rating but Canvas 2 is still watchable.

Recommended for those who like Hidamari Sketch, Sketchbook full colors or Honey and Clover. I really like this subgenre of "school life".
