PinkPineapple is most likely one of the most well known producers and publishers of adult animations. They started in 1994 and their first release was the anime adaption of a game made by Elf - Doukyuusei. PinkPineapple would continue to release numerous other adaptions of Elf games.
In 2005, the company hit bankruptcy, but came back to business a year later after restructuring within the company; however, volume 2 of Hininden: Gauss (the title that was in production when PinkPineapple went bankrupt) was never released. The new titles have mainly been adaptions from manga as opposed to being adapted from games, which made the bulk of their releases in the 90's.
With the releases starting from 2006, PinkPineapple's censoring method has been more detailed - instead of censoring the genitalia and the area around it (sometimes even the whole area the movement would occur, resulting in a screen half filled with mosaic), they've kept the censoring only on the genitalia; this means that more is seen and the censoring is less apparent.
