About us
Acusensus pioneers intelligent solutions that can be rapidly deployed to address road safety challenges. Since our founding in 2018, Acusensus has revolutionised road safety by developing technology that detects drivers illegally using mobile phones while driving. Our innovative solutions have since expanded to address key areas such as speed enforcement (including both point-to-point and average speed detection), seatbelt compliance, and vehicle registration/number plate recognition. Road Safety is at the core of all Acusensus initiatives. Our continuous innovation drives us to address emerging road safety issues, such as developing advanced solutions for road worker safety and pioneering research in impaired driving prevention. In Australia, Acusensus has implemented comprehensive road safety programs across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory, targeting dangerous driving behaviours like speeding, seatbelt non-compliance, and driver distraction. Globally, we are expanding our impact with active road safety initiatives in the United States and the United Kingdom. Acusensus has a growing international presence, with offices in Australia, the UK, and the USA, enabling us to bring our solutions to roads around the world.

Acusensus was proud to announce on the ASX earlier this month that we will be continuing our partnership with Transport for NSW, delivering our life-saving mobile phone and seatbelt detection program. This extended partnership will see the introduction of next-generation technology, including advancements in image capture, AI, and trailer deployment platforms. These enhancements will enable us to continue setting new benchmarks in road safety and drive behavioural change. This agreement demonstrates the long-term vision and commitment to road safety shared by both Acusensus and Transport for NSW. "The contract with Transport for NSW was Acusensus' first long-term contract following its incorporation and I am proud that we will be able to continue our partnership with the NSW Government," says Acusensus Founder and Managing Director, Alexander Jannink. "It has been incredibly fulfilling to witness state-wide behavioural changes as a result of the introduction of the original program and Acusensus remains fully committed to furthering this progress to reduce road fatalities and serious injuries across the state." #roadsafety #technology #innovation #collaboration #NSW #Acusensus

This International Women’s Day, Acusensus is taking the opportunity to highlight the diverse talent throughout our organisation. One of the great minds behind the Acusensus Road Worker Safety project is Aimee Allen, who is currently researching robotics for her doctorate at Monash University. Aimee specifically focuses on investigating human-robot interactions, specifically the sounds robots could or should make around humans. “I want to do robotics,” Aimee says in The Australian’s Women in Education Special Report. “I want something that exists in reality. I want to do the hard hardware.” Aimee expects to finish her thesis in August this year and hopes to continue her work in the Acusensus Road Worker Safety team, where she is assisting in building mechatronic multi-modal devices to decrease road worker-related deaths and injuries, one of the deadliest occupations. Acusensus is proud to partner with Department of Transport and Main Roads to trial mobile road safety cameras at rail level crossings across Queensland. The mobile cameras will be at high-risk level crossings in Toowoomba, Cairns, Rockhampton, Townsville, and Brisbane. This trial will detect unsafe driving behaviours as trains approach and pass. The findings from the trial will be used to inform future solutions to improve safety at level crossings across Queensland. Acusensus General Manager, Geoff Collins, joined BBC radio to discuss how Acusensus technology uses images of UK drivers to deter dangerous seatbelt and phone behaviour. In the UK, approximately 50,000 drivers hold their mobile phone daily while driving, and roughly 500,000 daily journeys exclude seatbelt use (Department for Transport survey data: https://lnkd.in/gTmXv-XA). Essex will join 19 police forces across the UK who have already partnered with Acusensus to improve road safety. Essex police force’s head of roads policing, Adam Pipe, called the photo results “phenomenal” and predicted this collaboration is likely to reduce road accidents. Acusensus is proud to partner with UK police departments to pursue our shared road safety mission to change behaviour, save lives and make the roads a safe place for everyone.
