By joining the Australia and New Zealand Short Term Rental Association (ASTRA) you will be supporting a national network of industry professionals to undertake vital research, engage and shape policy in regards to industry regulation and sustainability. We forward a seasonal electronic newsletter which will contain industry updates as well as information on the proposed government legislative changes and how this can be used as a tool to improve or enhance your management systems. Our team of Board directors will assist you if you wish to form local stakeholder groups. We screen industry inquiries and register guest complaints to consider through our advocacy work. The sharing economy is a hot topic in Australia, New Zealand and globally, and your support of ASTRA is vital right now. We invite owners, property managers, distributors and suppliers to join. ASTRA's launch of independent research into the impact of Byron Shire's 60-day caps at NSW Parliament House was a landmark event, bringing STRA and tourism industry leaders together with politicians and decision markers from throughout NSW. It was also a moment to reflect on how far the industry has come and a reminder of the challenges ahead in promoting the many benefits of short term rentals, an industry which remains fundamentally misunderstood by key decision makers. This evening was a good move in the right direction.
