The United States has announced most Australian originating goods will be subject to tariffs of 10% on import into the United States. These tariffs take effect from 12:01 am on 5 April 2025 EDT (3:01 pm Saturday 5 April AEDT).    Austrade is working closely with its partners in government and industry to support Australian businesses. This week, Global Victoria Women (#GVw) proudly hosted the 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 at the State Library of Victoria. We engaged in in-depth discussions with the representatives of the #ShanghaiFisheriesTradeAssociation, #JiangyangMarket Management Company, and key importers in the Market. The visit aimed to understand the current landscape of China's imported #seafood market, covering the overview of imported seafood demand (market size, growth trends, consumer preferences), Jiangyang Market's role in premium seafood import and distribution, and the competitive landscape including key suppliers, price trends and popular products.    Jiangyang Aquatic Products Market, a crucial player in the industry, handles a staggering 600,000 tonnes of wholesale volume, with a transaction value hitting 45 billion RMB ($9.6 billion AUD) annually.
