Better evidence. Better outcomes. Brighter future.
About us
JBI is a global organisation promoting and supporting evidence-based decisions that improve health and health service delivery. JBI offers a unique range of solutions to access, appraise and apply the best available evidence. JBI is driven to improving health outcomes in communities globally by promoting and supporting the use of the best available evidence to inform decisions made at the point of care. This work begins and ends with the needs of those working in and using healthcare services. JBI responds to their questions and provides high quality, reliable information that is pragmatic and useful where it counts. This information is based on evidence that is feasible, appropriate, meaningful and effective to specific populations and settings. JBI achieves this by working with universities and hospitals from across the globe through the JBI Collaboration. In doing so JBI ensures that the research evidence we seek to synthesise, transfer and implement is culturally inclusive and relevant across the diversity of healthcare internationally. JBI promotes and supports the sustainability of improved healthcare practice and health outcomes globally by developing and delivering a range of unique evidence-based resources, software, education and training. Professor Zoe Jordan, Executive Director, JBI was in London last week meeting with colleagues from the Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure Collaborative (ESIC)–a global initiative. As Secretariat and a co-lead, Zoe recently announced that reports from Stage 2 of the ESIC planning process are now open for feedback. Find the six reports and access the feedback survey here: https://lnkd.in/gRqgcfN7 You're encouraged you to share your thoughts on as many reports as you wish. Please note the survey closes on Wednesday 19 March at 1700 UTC.
This week we hosted the mid-point meeting for the Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure Collaborative (ESIC) planning process in London over two days. It was such a privilege to facilitate this meeting with colleagues from around the world working to identify ways in which we can boldly transform the way we deliver more reliable, trustworthy evidence. We had global experts, early career researchers, funders, representatives from the UN and WHO, consultants in MEL, data science and economic analysis in the room and we had vibrant discussion about what we have achieved to date and what we need to do in the weeks ahead. It is not an easy road we are traveling but I certainly feel energised about what we can achieve together and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again in June for the consensus meeting in Cape Town, South Africa! Thank you to the Wellcome Trust for hosting us and empowering us with this opportunity to collaborate to generate real change in the global evidence ecosystem!
