SDN Children’s Services has created a new initiative – the Referrers Project – to streamline the enrolment process for vulnerable families seeking early learning and preschool services in New South Wales. Funded by a grant from the NSW Department of Education, the Referrers Project tools are designed to build a bridge between referrers, centre staff and families, ensuring they are all on the same page about the steps a family needs to take when enrolling their child in early learning. https://hubs.ly/Q03dNwcH0

An educational leader who resigned from her position after just five weeks with her new employer has raised her case with the Fair Work Commission, arguing that her resignation should be treated as a dismissal under section 365 and 386 of the Fair Work Act 2009. The educational leader argued that she was being excluded from leadership decisions, that she was being assigned duties outside her specialised role, and that there was some confusion over her working hours after a change in ownership. https://hubs.ly/Q03dqpyz0

Are you seeking support for a program or initiative that creates, supports or maintains an inclusive environment?
We are thrilled to announce the AGECS Celebrate Diversity Grant! Every child deserves to feel welcome, valued, and included in their early learning journey. The Celebrating Diversity Grant supports early childhood education and care (ECEC) services across Victoria to create inclusive environments where all children can thrive and belong. We recognise that every community is unique, with its own strengths, cultures, and needs. This grant encourages locally driven initiatives that celebrate diversity in ways that are meaningful to each setting. By supporting context-specific, inclusive practices, we can help ensure that every child grows up in a space that respects and nurtures who they are. To do this, AGECS is funding grants of up to $1,000. The funds may be used for projects, material resources or professional learning, but cannot be used for salaries or back-fill for staff. Eligibility criteria: You must be an AGECS member to apply for this grant. If you would like to join, please visit www.agecs.org.au/join. You must be working in an early childhood education setting in the state of Victoria, Australia (i.e. family day care, long day care, stand alone kindergarten). This application form will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Submissions close Thursday 15th May 2025 at 11.59pm. Please apply via our Microsoft Form: https://lnkd.in/gFuUyKde
