Last week & in collaboration with our partners, we held an event in Perth to discuss a number of manufacturing topics. In this post I cover the topic of applying the Bosch Production System (BPS), which is a known & successful method in which Bosch use for our own transition of innovations into production. As Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions (BAMS) focus primarily on external customers, manufacturers can now benefit from these approaches & tools also. Our Lean Manufacturing advisory team led by Louisa De Vries consult with manufacturers via various workshops, influencing people in the ways in which Bosch operate. We often talk about Lean being in our DNA, but I think it's more than that, I think we influence manufacturers in our approaches, culture and methods so, these become the 'intangible' benefits of working with BAMS. National Robotics Strategy & my thoughts = https://lnkd.in/gEBnMWuX First impressions are that this is a great initiative, highlighting what is available on your doorstep, here in Australia. In the events that I've recently hosted, I spoke about the need for networking and to understand Australian capability before seeking 'off-the-shelf' solutions from abroad; which is particularly poignant when there are grants & funding being applied. Personally, I would prefer that we keep investment within, maintain the circular economy, and build greater local sovereignty. Another point; and there are plenty within this document that I can speak to, is the reference to 'barriers'. Has someone copied & pasted from my event presentations because this is right on point? This is a salient topic that can be sub-divided into many categories, such as; fear of investment, risk, costs, trust and people. Those who would have attended my events would have described their own experiences of investing in manufacturing equipment & how they could be mitigated. So, what if I suggested to you that there is an approach that we use that could help to overcome & possibly eliminate these types of barriers, which would be a small fraction of the cost of that investment - would that allay any fears or, risk? This document covers many key topics, and I am 100% confident that the applicable advice, support & solutions can be provided by myself and the team at Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions (BAMS).
