We need to support and equip more people to become successful product leaders in NZ! That's because there is a strong need for more product leaders to help collectively uplift the impact of our wider NZ product community. In NZ it's a hard ceiling to break into within your product career and once you do, even harder if you're not set up for success. We need to change that. It was an amazing bunch of people joining our Kanban NZ meetup event last night starting with the question "Will AI replace your Agile Coach? Can it even replace a Kanban Coach?", and we could have gone on for another three hours if not more. How do you handle change? Whether it's returning to the office more frequently, navigating team restructuring, or facing impromptu performance reviews, change is inevitable. ✅ Change is a constant in life. COVID-19 taught us uncertainty firsthand, and as autumn approaches here in #Melbourne, it reminds me of our annual cycle of change. Yet, why do many of us resist change? Certainty creates a sense of comfort. Our protective brain craves this stability, but what happens when we don't get what we're expecting? Do you remember when you lost your manager so had to think quick, or perhaps a time when a team member decided they'd just not show up for their shift. How about when you got a P&L and were surprised at your staff costs? How did you react when faced with these unexpected challenges? Overcoming initial reactions, such as frustration or disbelief, is where it starts. When you're ready, can you pivot and create a new plan? Are you emotionally ready to move on? This should help: ✅Seek perspectives from those that have a proven track record, not from Dan at the pub. Consider "believability weighted decision making," as #Raydalio explains in his book #Principles. ✅ Take a moment to regroup - Don't blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. Practice analysing your situation from various angles and ask the right questions. 3 basic ones that the #navyseals team use 1)what went right? 2)what went wrong? 3)what can we do differently next time? ✅You may think you know, but you'll be surprised with how often you really dont - Ask yourself, what am I assuming in this situation?
