The latest research (published yesterday) from Microsoft reveals a significant adoption of generative AI (#GenAI) in large organizations across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). Here are key takeaways from the report: - **Generative AI Adoption:** Every major organization in ANZ is leveraging generative AI, with all survey participants noting personal time efficiencies in their work. - **Survey Details:** The findings stem from a YouGov survey involving 471 decision makers in companies with over 300 employees. - **Time Savings:** Over half of the respondents (51%) experience time savings of more than an hour daily with GenAI, while 21% enjoy savings exceeding two hours each day. - **Customer Satisfaction:** A significant 71% of respondents have observed heightened customer satisfaction levels post the adoption of GenAI. - **Implementation Responsibility:** IT departments lead in GenAI implementation (36%), followed by data science and analytics teams (13%), with executive leadership also playing a role (11%). - **Training and Change Management:** Compared to other technologies, 32% of respondents note increased hands-on training and change management efforts accompanying GenAI adoption. I was fortunate enough to be a part of IDC Round Tables in Sydney and Singapore back in Mar 2024 on the topic of “Building Competitive Differentiation through AI”. IDC Analysts (Linus Lai & Deepika Giri) covered the top AI adoption drivers for 2023-24 and the top driver from what I recollect was “Improving employee productivity” to stay differentiated. We at Informatica have been helping customers to improve employee productivity especially in the world of data management for quite some time reducing manual efforts where possible. In the world of AI, we are helping customers address three key challenges they are facing: ·      Unequal data access across users ·      Distributed data creation leading to declining data quality ·      Overwhelmed data teams due to slow data supply chain issue Anish Agarwal from Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (DRL), Informatica’s strategic customer out of India, shared how they saved 20% effort per data engineer (repurposed their efforts elsewhere for further innovation) across a team of 30 data engineers using the Informatica’s flagship Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform. Just on one metric alone, Dr. Anish was able to make it cost neutral in Year 1 for DRL purchasing Informatica software plus implementation costs followed by cost positive in the 2nd year of using IDMC.
