🇧🇷 OR1, the OpenSearch Optimized Instance family, is now available in South America (Sao Paulo). OR1 delivers up to 30% price-performance improvement over existing instances (based on internal benchmarks), and uses Amazon S3 to provide 11 9s of durability. Continuing in the series of posts, this is my second session at re:Invent this year. I’ll be co-presenting this breakout session with Yousef Ourabi, Guilherme Greco, and Fabricio Henrique Oliveira. SVS318 | Scaling and securing private workloads using Amazon API Gateway Organizations that build modern applications on AWS often include API microservices as part of their modernization strategy. For use cases that are for internal users only, those API endpoints are exposed via private networking within a VPC. This session will explore how private REST API endpoints on Amazon API Gateway can address the challenges of managing internal workloads at scale including the complexities of securing APIs and maintaining a consistent API strategy across multiple teams. We'll delve into capabilities offered by API Gateway private REST APIs such as access control, resource isolation, and scalability for internal APIs. We'll then cover some of the latest enhancements to the service for private REST API endpoints. Itaú Unibanco will share their real-world experience in leveraging private REST APIs to streamline internal workflows, enhance collaboration, and maintain a secure and scalable API ecosystem. Cloud Financial Management or CFM is the first dimension of the Cost Optimization Pillar of AWS' Well-Architected Framework and it depends deeply on Observability. Having observability over the environment allows the usage of tools in a centralized way to execute operations for usage and cost optimization. One of these tools is AWS Compute Optimizer: A tool that can gather information on usage based on metrics that are analysed to provide rightsizing recommendations for your compute resources.
