At CarbiCrete, we're proud to contribute to the global fight against rising emissions and #climatechange. We're helping to reduce the #carbonfootprint of #concrete, the most-used manmade material on #Earth, with our #innovative cement-free technology. #Cement is concrete's traditional binding agent. Though it only makes up about 10-15% of the concrete mix, it is responsible for nearly 90% of concrete's associated #emissions. The CarbiCrete process enables a 100% replacement of cement with steel slag, an #industrial byproduct. This can reduce concrete's #embodiedcarbon emissions while valorizing #waste and contributing to the #circulareconomy. In the CarbiCrete process, concrete products are cured with #carbondioxide in a specialized chamber. This #carbonmineralization further lowers the #environmentalimpact of the blocks and permanently removes emissions from the atmosphere by trapping them in a valuable #product through #carbondioxideremoval. Utilizing CarbiCrete #technology can ultimately reduce the embodied #carbon levels of concrete #masonry units by over 20X compared to conventional cement-based processes. About us
CarbiCrete is a Montreal-based carbon removal technology company whose patented technology enables the production of cement-free, carbon-negative concrete made with industrial by-products and captured carbon dioxide. For every ton of concrete produced using the CarbiCrete process, 150 kg of CO2 are abated/removed. Conventional concrete is made with cement, the production of which accounts for nearly 10% of the world’s CO2 emissions! We’ve replaced cement in the mix with steel slag, industrial waste that is far cheaper than cement. Using carbonation activation, CO2 is injected into the wet concrete to give it its strength. Because we capture and permanently sequester CO2 in the concrete, these products are carbon-negative. Our patented technology can be implemented in any concrete products plant.

CarbiCrete CMO Yuri Mytko will be attending North American Carbon World presented by Climate Action Reserve next week in Los Angeles, California. For over two decades, #NACW has been the premier conference for professionals in #climate policy and #carbon markets to come together and share knowledge and insights. We're excited to have the opportunity to discuss CarbiCrete's #CCUS technology that generates #carbondioxide reductions and removals through the production of cement-free #concrete. Yuri will be available for one-on-one discussions with prospective #carboncredits buyers. We hope to see you there! In order to reduce the #carbonfootprint of new construction projects, many local agencies are putting regulations in place to promote #lowcarbon material use. #Concrete is a major focus of many Buy Clean policies, and innovations in #lowcarbon concrete, like CarbiCrete's cement-free technology, are crucial for lowering #emisisons in the #builtenvironment. "The first place many agencies start is by requiring suppliers to furnish environmental product declarations #EPDs ... The ability to gather accurate data from many disparate suppliers is essential to achieving the ultimate goal of #BuyClean: slashing #embodiedcarbon from #construction materials."

Did you know that #concrete is the most-used manmade material on the planet, with 30 billion tonnes consumed each year? #Cement, which acts as a binder in the concrete mix, is responsible for 90% of concrete's #carbonfootprint. Replacing cement in the concrete mix could have a major effect on global annual #greenhousegas #emissions. CarbiCrete #technology replaces 100% of cement in the concrete mix with steel slag and cures the resulting product via #carbondioxide mineralization. Together, this significantly reduces the concrete's #embodiedcarbon #emissions. CarbiCrete Director of Business Development Pete Collura will be attending the Northeast Hardscape Expo next week in Uncasville, Connecticut. We're excited to meet #hardscape and #masonry professionals, including #contractors, suppliers, and #construction industry experts to discuss the future of hardscape. In addition to masonry, CarbiCrete's cement-free #concrete #technology can be used to produce a range of hardscape products including paving stones, grid pavers, and deck blocks. As new #innovation is developed to incorporate #sustainability into concrete production, events like #NEHExpo are key for #collaboration. We hope to see you there! With cement-based concrete contributing over 8% of global #greenhousegas #emissions each year, reducing cement content in the concrete mix is one of the most popular ways to reduce concrete's #carbonfootprint. While ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) can replace up to 50% of #cement as a supplementary cementitious material, CarbiCrete's steel slag binder can act as a 100% substitute for cement in the #concrete mix. Between environmental benefits, improved cost margins, and #carbondioxide mineralization potential, steel slag is an excellent replacement for cement that will remain feasible in the long-term. 📢 Verra has launched the first public consultation on preliminary program documents for its incipient Scope 3 Standard (S3S) Program! The purpose of this consultation is to gather feedback on the clarity, comprehensiveness, and feasibility of essential program rules, concepts, and associated guidance. 📆 The consultation runs from March 6 through April 21, 2025. 💡The S3S Program builds on Verra’s flagship Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program and aims to deliver an innovative suite of harmonized requirements and guidance, filling a current critical market gap for a consistent approach to addressing Scope 3 emissions. As a result, Verra’s new S3S Program is well-positioned to drive investment and scale up in-value-chain climate action. The program will include the following elements: ✅ Auditable and robust rules and requirements to enable assurance of credible Scope 3 intervention outcomes ✅ Standardized, science-based, and peer-reviewed quantification methodologies that are publicly available ✅ A transparent Scope 3 Registry to aid transparency, drive co-investment, and bring integrity and clarity through unit issuance ✅ Third-party verification of Scope 3 intervention data, methods, and outcomes ✅ Certification of Scope 3 interventions and their greenhouse gas outcomes, built on Verra’s robust third-party auditing and verification systems Read the full announcement and provide feedback on the draft documents: https://bit.ly/41uxY4t #Verra #Scope3 #CarbonMarkets #ClimateAction #StandardsMatter
