It was fantastic to see our Global Head of Recycling Kunal Sinha participate in a Strategic Roundtable session at CERAWeek that explored the evolving landscape of #criticalmineral value chains. Kunal highlighted the role that #recycling must play if we are to meet growing demand for the critical minerals like #copper needed to advance the transition to a low-carbon economy and support energy and resource security. #CERAWeek

Micky Kanza first transferred to Glencore’s Kamoto Copper Company S.A. environment department when he heard the team needed day labourers.   While on the job, he became interested in water management and learnt more about the environment around him. “It wasn’t until then that I really understood what the environment was and realised that there are standards that must be respected,” Mickey remembers.   Today he works with a team that samples the water that is released back into the environment as a result of KCC’s operations, testing to determine water quality and check that KCC is meeting the right standards. 💧✅ Learn more about Micky’s career and the work KCC is doing to produce #copper and #cobalt in a responsible way here: https://lnkd.in/dh9dYP35 #AtTheCore
