Recently, two of our senior Private Equity leaders had the opportunity to join panels at Private Equity International’s 2025 NEXUS event. Harj Shoan, our Senior Managing Director, Sustainable Energy Transition and Global Head of Private Equity Funds, joined fellow industry leaders on a panel focusing on co-investments and shared insights on how the strategy offers us a way to diversify our direct private equity portfolio while also supporting deal origination. Jeff Markusson, our Senior Managing Director for Financial Services, joined a Private Equity leaders panel. He picked up on the emerging trends and sectors where we anticipate seeing the most movement over the next few years – such as financial services, healthcare, and software – that will help us deliver returns. 

Last week, Anna Murray, our Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Sustainable Investing, joined a panel at the Milken Institute's Finance Forum 2025, discussing the crucial role of investor leadership and the road to COP 30. The panel shared insights on building sustainable portfolios against today's financial and geo-political headwinds. Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to honouring the achievements of women and reaffirming our commitment to gender equity. Earlier this week, our Women@Teachers’ employee group hosted a panel discussion moderated by Michelle Joliat, Senior Managing Director, Product & Delivery, and featuring insights from our Chief Risk Officer, Kathryn Fric, Chief Pension Officer, Charley Butler, and Board members Cindy Forbes and Jaqui Parchment. Their discussion underscored the role we all can play in advancing gender equity every day. 

Recently our London office hosted over 30 students from the Ivey Business School at Western University as part of their Global Career Trek for an interactive session with our Infrastructure & Natural Resources team. Senior leaders and Ivey alumni Jamie Adam and Scott Kamins shared insights about the opportunities infrastructure presents as an asset class and gave students a flavour of what a day in the life of an investment professional looks like.

Recently we welcomed 80+ students to our downtown Toronto office for our latest “Invest in Your Success” event, a night of networking with our Investments and Risk teams. Students had the opportunity to hear from our panelists Kathryn Fric, Chief Risk Officer, Anna Murray, Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Sustainable Investing, and Michael Merkoulovitch, Senior Managing Director, Credit, Capital Markets about how to navigate their early careers.
