Adapted businesses in Quebec create nearly 4,000 jobs for people with functional limitations, in addition to generating nearly $300 million spending within the Quebec economy. Moreover, adapted businesses bring in more tax revenues for the government of Quebec and Canada than they cost in subsidies. Their net fiscal impact translates into an annual gain of $24 million in government coffers! Canada’s manufacturing PMI fell to 47.8 in July 2024, indicating the sharpest contraction in operating conditions since December 2023 and extending the current period of decline to 15 months. This decline could prompt the Bank of Canada to maintain an accommodative monetary policy at its next rate decision. Desjardins economists expect the Bank of Canada to cut the key rate in September. #canada #economy
