Ajman Transport Authority, in collaboration with BPC, has launched an open-loop and contactless payment system in public transport buses, powered by BPC’s O-CITY platform. This next-generation solution marks a significant milestone in fare collection for the transport sector and smart cities. Passengers can now make secure, smooth payments using bank cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and smartwatches, enhancing mobility and improving the overall travel experience. The launch also includes the "Masaar Travel" smart app, which enables journey planning, real-time bus tracking, and linking bank cards, bringing even more convenience to public transport in Ajman. Ajman is the first entity in the UAE to implement this technology, marking a step towards smarter, more connected cities.
