Data-Driven Cities: Building Smarter and More Responsive Urban Systems Dr.-Ing. Alanus von Radecki, CEO of the DKSR - Data Competence Center for Cities & Regions, and Lukas Koch-Ruchay, Team Lead City Intelligence, held a presentation and led a workshop where our Future Cities Go Glocal participants discussed and shared knowledge on how cities can use data to improve governance, infrastructure and public services. From real-time traffic management to climate resilience strategies, the workshop demonstrated how open data ecosystems and digital infrastructure can empower cities to become more transparent, efficient, and citizen-focused. Participants explored practical tools and case studies showcasing how data analytics can drive sustainability and inclusion. We thank Dr. Alanus von Radecki and Lukas Koch-Ruchay for having us. #AspenGermany

Day 2 for Future Cities Go Glocal participants started with a visit to Tegel Projekt GmbH / Urban Tech Republic | Berlin TXL where we had an insightful discussion with Dr. Stefan Höffken, Head of Digitalization, and Pia Sophie Laube, Executive Assistant to the CEO. The conversation focused on re-purposing urban spaces, data infrastructure, and smart buildings — key topics shaping the future of our cities. Following the discussion, we enjoyed a guided tour of the former airport, gaining valuable insights into its transformation.

#AmericasChoice #AspenGermany

Yesterday, the legislators in our #Labs2025 cohort met virtually for the first time since our trip to Dresden last month. After agreeing on common definitions for the three subtopics "social inclusion", "civic and political participation", and "social mobility", our transatlantic group drafted a first set of policy recommendations. An exciting step forward! The project is supported by the Transatlantic Program of the Federal Republic of Germany, funded by the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
