Reflecting on a Great FunctionBay Annual Meeting! I was honored to represent FunctionBay GmbH at this year's FunctionBay, Inc. Annual Meeting, alongside my amazing colleagues. It was a pleasure to present the Sales and Marketing updates on behalf of our team, and I truly appreciated the positive feedback and engaging discussions that followed. One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to meet my Korean colleagues in person again - something I had been looking forward to for a long time! It was also great to connect with the other Business Units from around the world, exchanging ideas and learning from each other. The many inspiring conversations and exchanges made this event even more special. A big thank you for the invitation and for making this meeting such a valuable experience! Case Study: Fluid-Based Damping in Soft Closure Systems 🌊🔬 How can we accurately simulate fluid-based damping to optimize the performance of soft closure systems? In this case study, we coupled RecurDyn (flexible multi-body dynamics) with Particleworks (particle simulation) to analyze the interaction between a deformable piston and a viscous fluid. By iterating displacement, velocity, and pressure data, we achieved a realistic representation of fluid-structure interactions. 🔍 Key insights: ✅ Fluid pressure plays a critical role in damping performance ✅ Coupled simulation approach predicts force response with a high accuracy ✅ Real-time feedback of fluid pressure and structural deformation improved simulation accuracy This study highlights how fluid-structure interaction simulations can provide a cost-effective alternative to extensive physical testing, offering deeper insights into fluid-based damping mechanisms. But how can we reduce reliance on costly prototypes while achieving high-accuracy vibration analysis? This case study explores Order Tracking of Gear Mesh Vibration in a planetary gear speed reducer using Multibody Simulation Software RecurDyn. By combining advanced simulation techniques with experimental validation, we demonstrate how virtual prototypes can: ✅ Identify resonance conditions based on number of revolutions and meshing frequencies ✅ Reduce development time and costs by minimizing reliance on physical prototypes ✅ Enhance accuracy with high-fidelity flexible body modeling and gear contact analysis Key highlights from our approach: 📌 Analytical Foundation: Gear meshing frequency calculations for theoretical resonance prediction 📌 Experimental Validation: Real-world testing using accelerometers and microphones 📌 Simulation Model: 3D dynamic modeling with RFlex flexible body technology 📌 Order Tracking Analysis: Campbell diagrams to visualize frequency trends 🚀 The results?
