Setting new standards The Porsche Macan is an SUV model from Porsche, distilling the sporty essence of the brand into a compact five-seat, five-door car that’s practical yet agile. First introduced in 2013 and sold globally from 2014, the Macan instantly set a new benchmark for driving dynamics in the sector. In 2024 four all-electric models of the Macan were introduced, while in most countries outside the EU, Porsche continues to offer the previous Macan as a combustion-engined option in parallel. The Macan Electric is rear-wheel drive, while the Macan 4 Electric, Macan 4S Electric and Macan Turbo Electric are all-wheel drive. All combustion-engined versions of the Macan have an active all-wheel drive system for maximum traction and control, as well a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission that offers a smooth automatic mode or motorsport-style manual gear changes. The Macan’s exterior design makes it unmistakably a Porsche, while the interior has a cockpit-like feel, yet seats five in comfort. Weltcup-Gesamtsieg holen, Kombinations-Geschichte schreiben und gleichzeitig auf das Abitur vorbereiten Diese nahezu unglaubliche Leistung gelang der nordischen Kombiniererin Nathalie Armbruster. Als erste deutsche Frau holte sie den Gesamtweltcup und das mit grade mal 19 Jahren und mitten während der Abiturvorbereitung. Zu dieser Leistung gratulieren wir ganz herzlich - sie zeigt, dass man seine eigenen Träume erfüllen kann, wenn man mit viel Herzblut und Engagement daran arbeitet. Junge Talente auf solch einem sportlichen Weg zu begleitet, liegt uns bei Porsche am Herzen. Daher engagieren wir uns seit 2016 gemeinsam mit der Stiftung "OlympiaNachwuchs" finanziell für die Förderung junger Talente - darunter auch Nathalie Armbruster. „Porsche steht für Träume. Wir unterstützen Menschen dabei, ihre Träume zu verwirklichen – dazu zählen auch junge Athletinnen und Athleten. From arctic cold to blistering desert heat - our climatic wind tunnel in Weissach can simulate extreme conditions from a frosty -30°C to a hot +50°C under one roof. Wind speeds of up to 260km/h can be generated - as strong as a category 5 hurricane. Humidity can be precisely controlled from 5 to 90% and solar radiation of up to 1200 watts per square metre can be simulated. Monsoon rainfall of up to 800 litres per hour can also be simulated. This means that the climate of almost any region of the world can be simulated in a very small space. Our engineers perform a wide range of critical tests in this state-of-the-art environment: They optimise powertrain systems, check cooling circuits, subject batteries to extreme climatic conditions, analyse component temperatures under extreme loads and evaluate the strength of vehicle components in different wind conditions. Air conditioning systems are also tested for comfort and performance, and de-icing systems are optimised for winter scenarios. Driving through the deserts of Nevada or travelling with a trailer over snow-covered Alpine passes: extreme as these tests may seem, they serve a clear purpose: to ensure that every vehicle that leaves our factory is perfectly prepared for all conceivable climatic conditions.

„Ich arbeite an den Träumen von morgen.“ Rodi Isik ist Facharbeiter in unseren Entwicklungswerkstätten in Weissach. Seine Hauptverantwortlichkeiten umfassen die Software- und Hochvoltinbetriebnahme von Prototypen, die Vorbereitung von Erprobungen (Umbau und Aufbau von Erprobungsträgern) sowie die Fehlerdiagnose bis hin zur finalen Erprobungsteilnahme. Neben seinem Vollzeitjob bei #Porsche studiert Rodi derzeit Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen. Ein besonderes Highlight, auf das Rodi zurückblicken kann: „Definitiv die Erprobungsteilnahme in den USA. Es war meine erste Reise in die USA, und mit meinem Lieblingsauto, dem 911er, unterwegs zu sein, war einfach ein Traum, der in Erfüllung gegangen ist.“ #TraumjobPorsche

Bordering the warm waters of the Adriatic Sea, the winding roads and stunning scenery of the Montenegrin Littoral are a hidden gem for travellers. And at the heart of this quiet coastal corner of southeast Europe is, unexpectedly for many, a drivers’ paradise: the Kotor Serpentine Road. A recent media event to mark the addition of the Macan Electric to Porsche’s mid-size SUV series saw journalists from 14 different markets descend on the region, basing themselves in the ancient town of Herceg Novi, Montenegro’s ‘City of the Sun’. From here, a 60 km drive eastwards around the steep-sided and densely wooded Bay of Kotor brought the convoy of all-electric Macan models to the foot of to what is regarded as one of the greatest driving roads in Europe.
