EXCLUSIVE: Fast-rising British actor Henry Lloyd-Hughes has been set to play tech whiz kid Allen Scott-Frank in Lionsgate‘s heist sequel Now You See Me: The Second Act. Production is underway on the Jon M Chu-helmed pic that stars returning cast Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, and Michael Caine along with Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan and Jay Chou who are new to the franchise.
Scripted by Pete Chiarelli and Ed Solomon, the sequel picks up a year after the Four Horseman outwitted the FBI with their mind-bending tricks and as they come face-to-face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet. The initial caper went on to gross over $350M worldwide in 2013. The Second Act has a June 2016 release date.
Lloyd-Hughes made a name for himself with the hugely popular UK TV comedy, The Inbetweeners, and also had a role in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. More recently, his credits include Anna Karenina, the upcoming Madame Bovary opposite Mia Wasikowska, and Man Up with Simon Pegg. He’s also starring in Channel 4 and PBS’ 10-part epic drama Indian Summers, which begins airing in the UK on February 15 and in the U.S. in September.
He’s repped by Curtis Brown, WME and Mosaic.
I can’t wait for this sequel. Now You See Me was the *worst* movie I’ve ever seen, no joke. It’s right up there with Showgirls in terms of being ‘so bad-it’s good.’ When people tell me they liked this movie I’m like “YEAH! Cuz it’s awful right?!” and then there are the people who get it and we high five… and then there are those who actually thought this was a good movie, like legitimately, and I never speak to them again.

Henry Lloyd-Hughes is playing Allen Scott-Frank? Seems miscast.
I’m stunned this got a sequel.
Or maybe just stunned it grossed so much.
What a weird, silly, ridiculous film.
I’m fairly easy on ‘capers’ but this one crossed logic lines in every shot. Hard to watch. I just needed someone to listen. Thanks.
I disagree completely buddy. I loved it because it was a ridiculous caper film and as we know it was a huge hit with audiences.
There are films being made that we should be far more concerned about.
