🚀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯: 𝗔 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺! 🧑💻 Jacob’s journey with AskCody started almost six years ago when he joined us as an intern. He first discovered us at a tech fair, and it was a happy coincidence that his old friend was already working here. Knowing he wanted to dive into programming, Jacob Sloth Thomsen initially studied software development at the university. However, he quickly transitioned to the Datamatiker program at UCN — and that’s when he found his path with AskCody.   📱𝗔 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Today, Jacob is an integral part of our Client Team, taking on projects outside the main stack. His expertise lies in everything mobile-related, from app development to display solutions. One of his initial projects was the AskCody Mobile App, which ended up being a huge challenge to get into a release-ready state. Though it helped form his skillset from the get-go and was a rewarding experience.   💬𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 When asked what he loves most about working here, Jacob doesn’t hesitate: "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲." He explains: "I really appreciate how we structure our workdays. We focus on the team’s needs, help each other out, and have a very laissez-faire approach. It’s all about open dialogue — discussing what works and what doesn’t, and continuously improving. The flexibility is fantastic; if I need to take an hour off for something like car maintenance, I can easily make it up later. It’s all about trust and autonomy."🤝   👀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳𝗳 For Jacob, a perfect day off is all about diving into his hobbies. He’d start the morning with a few peaceful hours of wood carving🌳. Later, he’d settle in with a good book 📕 — he loves exploring history, theology, and political science (his current read is a deep dive into the history of the Catholic Church). He’s also a big fan of sci-fi and western novels with a twist of horror. In the afternoon, you might find him on a bike ride🚲 or a long walk🚶♂️to clear his mind. He’d end the day with some quality time playing board games with friends.   𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯’𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀: 💤 Prioritize getting 8 hours of sleep every night. 💡 Apply what you learn right away instead of waiting. ❓ Ask for help if you’re stuck — it’s better than wasting time figuring it out alone.
