🤝 Strengthening Collaboration for Catalonia’s FinTech Future We just wrapped up a productive meeting with the team behind the Catalan Financial Services Cluster initiative, including representatives from Cluster Development and the Departament d'Economia i Finances de la Generalitat de Catalunya. On our side, BCN FinTech board members Elliott, Victor, Jayme and Clemens were present to represent the voice of the local fintech ecosystem. 🔍 During the session: – We were briefed on the overall strategy and action plan – We discussed next steps and upcoming timelines - We had an Q&A to better understand the details behind it – We explored potential avenues for collaboration As BCN FinTech, our vision has always been for Catalonia to become a leading FinTech hub in the EU. The cluster initiative similarly aims to position Catalonia as a major financial hub in Europe. The direction is clearly aligned - and we’re excited to see the public sector push forward on this. The details that we've heard are very encouraging and super positive news for our ecosystem. 🙌 MWC / 4YFN recap: a huge week for our fintech ecosystem! 🙌 Barcelona’s biggest tech week has come to an end and we're both exhausted and excited after an incredible few days of fintech innovation, networking, and milestone moments. Here’s what stood out for us at this edition: 🌱 Fintech’s Growing Presence at 4YFN Panels, awards, exhibitors - fintech was everywhere! We’re thrilled to see our sector shine, and even prouder that a fintech startup took home the top 4YFN award 💪. And, of course, a personal highlight: BCN FinTech officially became a 4YFN Community Member! 🤝 Big thanks to their team Bego, Laura & Melina for making this happen. 🏦 Banks Are Paying Attention Connecting with banks has historically been a challenge for fintech startups and even ourselves. But this year? A real shift. Several banks actively reached out to us, showing a new openness to collaboration. Interesting discussions happened, and we look forward to turning them into tangible opportunities for the ecosystem. 🌉 Building Global Bridges We strengthened ties with existing partners from Belgium (FINTECH BELGIUM), Lithuania, and the UK while forging new connections with Scotland, Italy, and Ukraine.
