Summary
It is reported that Sminthurus viridis (L.), which causes damage mainly to lucerne and clover, was found damaging the foliage of the potato cultivars Kerr's Pink and Maris Piper at Portsoy, Banffshire, UK. This is the first record of the collembolan attacking the crop in the country. Details of the damage are given.
