You're thinking of its sister programme, Tampax, that's only on once a month. 😯

The time I'd seen it, I was totally absorbed

I quite enjoyed it. A bit too much chit chat at the start but otherwise decent.

I would guess it has a younger average audience than most terrestrial dramas. Probably doing fairly well for itself amongst 25-44s (a lot of whom won’t be watching live or on the night of TX) and completely tanking elsewhere.

I’ve heard a fair bit more talk about it than I have recent dramas too, but then the other new drama I’ve heard positive talk about is Chernobyl and obviously that’s not getting a huge audience either (although doing very well for the much smaller network it airs on).

Yeah I think it's probably a show that a lot of the older audience aren't tuning into, and they make up such a huge proportion of your average BBC One drama's audience. It'd be good if someone can find some stats for it!

The Hit List is the number two trend on twitter.

I hope this does reasonably well. Nothing much wrong with it as a bit of fun play-along Saturday night entertainment.

Though pairing it up with Pointless Celebrities is a bit lame. After The Hit List the last thing I wanted was another quiz.

The problem with BBC One Saturday's outside of Strictly is there are too many lead up shows and no centrepieces. On ratings The Greatest Dancer and All Together Now should kickstart an evening whilst Pointless and The Hit List are starter shows simply by their make up. They shouldn't really be airing through the heart of airtime.

You are correct. The beebs entertainment budget has been hacked away over the years, and i would guess is much lower then itv's. So outside of strictly you just get loads of cheap looking filler shows.

You mentioned budget. I imagine we'll be hearing about Tory cuts again... ;) Seriously though, I'd appreciate it if people didn't take the bait this time.

We don't have any age stats for it but from what Broadcast reported following the first episode, the ABC1 skew was close to 60% which is pretty good for a drama.

Just seen itvs “schedule” for tomorrow night. What a dire lineup. A Harry Potter film shown for the millionth time followed by the news in the heart of prime time. Then a 2 hour Vera repeat. Hopefully they get deservedly poor ratings but no doubt at least 3m will tune in.

BBC One is airing Years and Years, a bold drama which unfortunately isn’t rating well so they’re not exactly playing it safe.

I agree Year after Year is certainly thinking out of the box and there is nothing " formulaic" about this show.

It's a poor schedule but it's a Bank Holiday weekend. The following seven days are much busier so they'll be focusing more on them.

Harry Potter does seem to get the numbers whatever the circumstances. I don't know for how long it'll be able to keep that up though.

The hit list has a catchphrase feel about it, definitely a simple idea but normally they make the best shows.

I agree with posters above, the been need a centrepiece, however they can solve that by moving McIntyre to January,.

You'd think this should help Gentlemen Jack keep an audience, if it can't then it's gonna struggle in weeks to come.

You are correct to say that between '10 and '16 (I believe), the govt. forced an unnecessary real terms budget cut on the Beeb and diverted some licence fee money elsewhere (World Service, S4C, oldies free licences). Now, if you take money out of a service, the service is obviously affected. All licence fee money should go to the BBC to spend on content. The Beeb needs more money too to make up for what it lost for seven years.

I wasn't really a fan of ITV keeping Life Stories going, but actually they have a strong line-up this time and it feels so much better for on Saturday after BGT, than a weekday.

Watching the Mel B interview now and it’s really good. A much better watch than Jonathan Ross and the slot does feel right, although it won’t work so well out of The Voice Kids.

BGT has been great so far this year

I thought the young magic act were a bit unlucky to not get through tonight to the lives

The disco dogs bit at the end of the auditions was great

Strong Golden Buzzer acts too, even David’s was decent

    Hope the lives rate well!

They’re not on the DS list for semi-finalists unless they changed their name? (Or I’m misreading it!)

I wasn't really a fan of ITV keeping Life Stories going, but actually they have a strong line-up this time and it feels so much better for on Saturday after BGT, than a weekday.

It's reverted back to it's original slot, and works much better for it.
