What if you could generate a space-time map of the inside of a quantum processor? At Quobly, we can! The same measurement techniques we are using at Quobly, developed in part by our own Benoit Vermersch, were recently demonstrated on Google's 72-qubit processor and co-published with Benoit in Nature Magazine (February 2025). Benoit wrote an explainer article on our blog, which you can access here: https://lnkd.in/epa7gpP8 At Quobly, we believe that mastering advanced qubit measurement techniques in-house will be vital to our R&D roadmap, helping us hit our milestones on time. Here’s what we plan to do next in measurement: 1. Scale measurement to larger qubit arrays: We're developing techniques that will allow us to measure fidelity with precision even as we scale toward systems with hundreds and, ultimately, thousands of qubits. 2. Enhanced physical property detection: Our protocols will measure quantum phenomena based on physical properties, providing objective data that will enable more sophisticated error mitigation strategies and quantum circuit optimization. 3. New kinds of measurements: We're pioneering new methods that utilize entangling gate operations, potentially revolutionizing how we characterize and control quantum systems at scale. Qubit measurement plays a key role in our ambitious roadmap to achieve 1,000 logical qubits—a goal we're determined to reach ahead of any other company in the burgeoning quantum industry.

At Quobly, our story began in the research labs of Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives and CNRS, where our co-founders worked with research teams to pioneer the idea that silicon qubits could be made using the same fabrication processes as classical transistors. Today, we continue to build on that strong foundation, working hand in hand with this ecosystem to make scalable quantum computing a reality. Our latest breakthrough, co-published with CEA-Leti, CEA-Irig and CEA-List and presented at the International Solid-State-Circuits Conference [ISSCC], marks another critical step in this journey: Using Quobly’s Strategy to Build Qubits With FD-SOI Technology, Readout Architecture ‘Provides a Path to Low Power and Scalable Quantum ICs’. This innovation proposes a capacitive-feedback transimpedance amplifier (CTIA) readout circuit, achieving just 18.5μW per qubit—a signifcant improvement in power efficiency, size, and scalability. What does this mean? ✅ More qubits per chip ✅ Lower energy consumption ✅ A smaller circuit footprint that provides an answer to the wiring bottleneck that limits quantum scalability “Our process, which leverages established FD-SOI technology to benefit from the expertise of the semiconductor industry, is already paying off: This work demonstrates the co-integration of classical electronic functions at low temperature to simultaneously read and control multiple qubits on chip with record low consumption and compact design. Quobly’s partnership with STMicroelectronics, to produce commercial quantum processor units (QPUs) at scale, builds on the ground-breaking work done with CEA-Leti.” Tristan Meunier, CTO of Quobly From our origins within CEA to our continued partnership today, we are proving that FD-SOI is a powerful enabler of large-scale, silicon-based quantum processors. This is another milestone in a collaboration that keeps pushing the frontiers of quantum technology. 🔗 Read more in our latest press release: https://lnkd.in/e9zpgt-T #QuantumComputing #FD_SOI #Scalability #Innovation #Quobly #CEALeti Quentin Schmidt | Franck Badets | Maïa Sallier | Marion Levy | Maud Vinet | Sébastien Dauvé | Pascale Bayle Guillemaud

As the #AIActionSummit wraps up in Paris, the spotlight has been on the transformative power of AI. In the background, another revolution is also taking shape: Quantum computing. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, puts it best: "It’s the next big paradigm shift in computing, following AI." At Quobly, we believe that AI and quantum are powerful technologies that complement each other, each unlocking new possibilities the other cannot achieve alone: ➡️ For sure, today, AI speeds up quantum computing development. We use machine learning to analysis our characterization images and sort out the relevant information for technology maturation. ➡️ In the future, AI may be a useful tool to optimize quantum computing efficiency. DeepMind’s AlphaQubit has outperformed leading algorithmic decoders for system up to 241 qubits, suggesting it will be a speed up for fault tolerant on mid-sized quantum devices in the future. ➡️ Quantum has the potential to enhance AI. AI thrives on data, but when no data exists—such as when discovering new molecules, materials, or catalysts—quantum computing provides synthetic data generation that can inform AI models, as says Jack Hidary, CEO of SandBoxAQ. ➡️ Can quantum speed up machine learning or decrease the energy consumption of AI? It's still a scientific debate, there is for instance instance research on how to load the data. In any case, scaling to millions of qubits and reach full-scale quantum computing brings more opportunities for quantum to power AI. That’s where Quobly comes in. We’re building quantum processors using the same semiconductor technology as today’s silicon-based chips. By leveraging industrial fabrication techniques, we are on the fastest path to millions of qubits. As the AI Action Summit focuses on the transformative power of artificial intelligence, quantum computing is already laying the foundation for the next computing era. AI is Changing the World. Quantum is Next.
