WHO WANTS A McDonald's Big Mac Menu for 1 USD ? When you launch a #retail app such as KooulMaroc, and especially in the #food #delivery space, with the objective of promoting it, and getting #downloads and #orders, and you don’t have a deep pocket to lose #money for years .. you are facing this critical question : Where should I put my #marketing budget ? 4 options come to me : 1 - full budget on offline ads 2 - full budget on online ads 3 - mixed budget on both with nice promotions 4 - 0 budget on both and full budget on #promotions to propose the lowest products #prices possible and EVER to users Then I started to ask myself whether my marketing budget should go to Meta / TikTok / YouTube or benefit to my #customers 🤔🧐 USE CASE : Let’s say the first target for our startup would be to have 1% market share on food delivery in the 5 big Moroccan cities, that might actually do around 1,000,000 orders a month i.e very first target would be 10,000 orders a month for KooulMaroc. With only 50,000 usd monthly marketing budget, I can offer 10,000 McDonald's #bigmac menus or TACOS DE LYON #steakhouse menus at 1 usd each.. do you think I would need any #ads with this offer to get the needed virality ? It doesn’t change my 10% comission on the public price .. doesn’t change the restaurant agreed profitability on KooulMaroc orders, doesn’t change delivery cost for Kooul deliverers .. the only thing that changes is that my customer benefits from 100% of my #marketing budget .. I am not saying this is a sustainable solution but when you’re small, facing the big, how should you tackle your launch, from downloads to conversion, activation and retention without following the general & costly path of digital marketing …? Challenging panel title... : "BUILDING A RESPONSIBLE STARTUP!" *🔍 How did it start ?* Working for Neteven I discovered the passion and expertise of refurbishers and got mind-blown by the potential for giving tech a second life. The car market was already doing it... why not extending this philosophy to #Tech products ? That's where Quentin Le Brouster and Vianney Vaute were crazy enough to take part in this incredible adventure as co-founders. Ten years later, millions of people joined the refurbishing revolution. Convince customers. Step 1: Create the narrative Step 2: Back it up with receipts Step 3: Deliver with emotion to make it take hold Convincing people was my job as a trial lawyer. It was my job when I taught law students at SMU Law. It's my job today with the most ambitious CEOs and companies in the deep tech space. This 3 step process is the framework for it all. 🗺️ Have a look at DigitalFoodLab's Top France FoodTech 30! Each year, we screen the 900+ French FoodTech active startups to list the startups that are the most exciting and the best representative of what's happening right now in the ecosystem. One month after its publication, we are quite happy to learn that a first startup (Sencrop) has announced its exit. Not too bad! What can we learn when we look at this map and compare it to the previous one? 1️⃣. There is a very noticeable evolution. Until now, from one year to the next, the landscape has been pretty much the same, but now there is significant activity with multiple new “relevant” and cool startups being launched all over the agrifood value chain. However, there is a strong downside: many of the companies we removed have lost some of their relevance simply because they have failed or are slowly shutting down (such as Ÿnsect, Pyxo or Jungle). 2️⃣ We observe a structural change in what’s making the French FoodTech ecosystem. It is much more B2C-focused than it was a couple of years ago, with notable food science (HappyVore, La Vie) and delivery (Le Fourgon, Bene Bono, La Fourche…) startups catering their products and services directly, and quite successfully, to consumers. That’s really new for French startups. Now, the next challenge for most of them will be to scale internationally, something that has not yet been successfully done by a French FoodTech player. 3️⃣ The ecosystem is still waiting for its “champion”, notably after the recent news on Ÿnsect. The number of success stories remains quite limited, and the absence of a “massive success”, even if some seem to be almost there, slows down the growth of investments and the creation of new exciting ventures. 👉 For the list of the startups, ask me in the comments! #foodtech #agtech #mapping #france

Delete your emails. All of them. But not one by one. Open the email management console for the whole team and click on DELETE. Precise, efficient. At least 100 GB purged. According to Ademe (Ademe is the French agency for Ecological Transition), you'll have saved at least 1 Kg of CO2. ... that is, if the entire team continues to operate without an alternative solution for ONE YEAR, of course. No emails. Not ever. Use nothing instead. It's not easy, is it? Alternatively, to be even more effective: the next time you want beef, don't have any. A single meal without beef is equivalent to 7 kg of CO2 not released into the atmosphere.  It's 7 times more effective. For an "effort" of just 30 minutes. --- Of course, if you want to delete e-mails, but ESPECIALLY if you want to unsubscribe from numerous mailing lists so that you no longer receive them, don't hesitate to do so. But if you can spare 3 hours for digital housework, you also have 3 hours to think about your eating habits and try to reduce your consumption of beef, or even meat altogether.
