What's THE best SaaS metric to follow user engagement ? 🤔 👉I can understand the best option will depend on each use case and objective. And a great inspiration for that is Equals' SaaS metrics guide which I highly receommend to check ! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ewZK8Bei BUT what 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 can help find a metric that best fits our use case ? 👉We are developping an AI coach that guides startups' teams to maximise their growth efficiency. Daily usage means people express their best self, which turns into optimum performance for the startup. Maybe we could use 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 (DAUY/MAU) or Equals' 𝘼3𝙭7 (https://lnkd.in/eDJ3GE8N) BUT how to go 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 and develop a metric that specifically fit our use case ? Bobby, Ben ? 🙏 Ideas and comments welcomed ! Thanks ! #AI #saas #metrics #performance

We got +100 NPS for our recent SaaStock Founder Membership (SFM) retreat. Based on feedback and on reflection, here are a few reasons why: 1. Magic 🪄: We sourced a magical location in the Agafay Desert, Les Terrasses D'Agafay. It created the base for the first wow moment. Also as we were in the middle of the desert, it kept the group together (as no one could leave). 2. Grounding ⛺️: Glamping instead of 5* resorts. Kind of an unexpected one but a good learning. The previous retreats had been in 5* resorts which we could go to any time on holiday with family/friends. Glamping I think resulted in us feeling a bit more grounded which helped with the openness and transparency of the group. 3. Fire 🔥: We had a campfire which every evening created a central space for us to congregate and we ran roundtable discussions for the whole group with a level of transparency not seen before. 4: Ice 🧊: We broke the Ice the night before the retreat started with a dinner in Marrakech. Allowed everyone to connect and familiarise if they were new to the group. 5. Space 🛸: The agenda allowed for lots of space for people to just talk and relax 6: Power of 40 🔋: Not that one, but we cap the size at 40 people. Just the right amount for everyone to connect and bond. With this, i think we found the recipe for the perfect Founder retreat. Already planning next years and wish the NPS scale could go above +100 #saastockfoundermembership #retreat #events #saas #founders #community

Hubspot offers over 200 features (at least) ! 🤯 On top of that, only 30-50% of these are actually used. Hubspot is a good tool, we use it at Founder + Lightning, but it’s a tool that businesses in nearly every vertical use but mainly because there’s nothing better for their specific context. I did a post on this recently about the Klarna changes and it reminded me of the opportunity for: ↳ New startups to build industry/vertical specific tools (huge opp in CRM space) ↳ Businesses to build their own tools in-house harnessing AI (which they can then sell also to other similar businesses) There are tons of bloated tools out there that could easily be replaced soon. What tools would you like made for your industry/context? #featurebloat #businessopportunity #businesstools

—> My Take on SaaS in 2025💙 : 1/ The market is overcrowded. By 2025, niche players will either be acquired or forced to pivot. We’ll see fewer tools, but the ones that survive will dominate their categories with deeper integrations and unmatched value. 2/ Automation and analytics will no longer be add-ons—they’ll be fundamental. SaaS solutions will need to offer smarter workflows, proactive insights, and seamless user experiences that solve problems before they arise. 3/ The subscription economy will mature. Companies will prioritize keeping their existing users over burning cash on ads. Continuous onboarding, usage-based pricing, and personalized experiences will define success. 4/ No-code tools will evolve into no-code ecosystems. Platforms won’t just help users build—they’ll empower communities to create and scale solutions without technical expertise. This shift will lower barriers for SMBs and fuel innovation. 5/ Security will become a deal-breaker. As SaaS becomes more critical to businesses, it will also become a bigger target. Investing in zero-trust frameworks and robust data protection will no longer be optional—it’ll be essential. 6/ The next wave of SaaS growth will come from emerging markets. These regions will demand leaner, cost-effective solutions tailored to their unique challenges. Expect new innovation hubs to emerge far from traditional tech centers. 7/ Customers are done with generic products. The winners in 2025 will be those who deeply understand their niche and deliver specialized solutions. SaaS will shift from broad horizontal scaling to focused vertical specialization. 8/ Confusing pricing tiers will die out. Businesses want clarity. Transparent, usage-based pricing models will align with customer success and build trust—key to long-term relationships. 9/ Businesses will move away from vanity metrics like user counts and focus on outcomes. Companies will ask, What measurable value does this software deliver? Providers will need to prove real ROI, not just flashy features. 10/ SaaS in 2025 will reward those who adapt, prioritize customer needs, and innovate relentlessly. It’s no longer just about building tools—it’s about creating value, ecosystems, and relationships that last. What’s the one topic you’d love to see me talk next? Let me know! 🔽 ************************************************ 📌 I’m the founder of Uptech Sol, a software powerhouse delivering innovative web and mobile solutions. 📌 Explore our website to see how we build scalable and impactful software solutions: https://lnkd.in/dBTXXm7q

CRO trend #14 🚀: Nothing kills conversions like lack of trust. According to recent online studies the average cart abandonment rates are between 60- 70%! This means that on average if 100 people add a product to their cart at least 60 of them won't go to checkout. Due to lack of trust. So instead of using a traditional cart page or a draw/slider be sure to add trust elements like: → Special Guarantee/credibility. → Adding reviews and customer ratings. → Displaying icons and text that make you more trustworthy. Be creative with this. Example below [Etsy] 👇

Addicted 2 Success : How to Optimize Your Pop Up Form to Maximize Conversions https://ift.tt/t0ENhuR Tracking and improving your conversion rates is an excellent way to boost your business strategy, leading to a significant increase in the ROI indexes. With a proper approach and the correct marketing tools, your business can turn each of your visitors into a potential lead that will bring profit to your platform. But what is this mysterious way of boosting your sales? As you know, everything ingenious is simple, that’s why in today’s article, we will discuss pop-up ads, which represent an efficient marketing tool for any modern digital company. What Is A Pop-Up Ad? A pop-up ad is a promotional and advertising technique that can be used to turn platform visitors into leads, test your marketing hypothesis, and boost relations with the audience. Despite their notorious reputation, pop-up ads are considered rather annoying than useful. We cannot agree with this statement. The choice of the correct pop up ad template and its proper implementation in your business will lead to a significant boost in your conversion rates. So, what exactly will the pop-up ad do for your business? Let’s find out together. How Do Pop-Up Ad Templates Help Your Business? Proper use of the pop-up ad in direct interaction with your audience is an indispensable tool for your company. Regardless of the niche you work in or the services you provide to customers, pop-up ads are a great way to evolve your marketing approaches and boost sales. For example, an average pop-up conversion rate is equal to 11.04%. But the truth is that with the necessary modifications and knowledge of your audience, the limit for the increase in conversion rate is boundless. Let’s define the other benefits of adding pop-ups to your brand’s platform today. Quick Conversions The first and foremost reason for the pop-up ad implementation is its ability to turn a regular visitor into a constant customer. Companies can underestimate the influence of these advertisement tools, preferring to spend a budget on new features or complex marketing campaigns when the proper pop-up ad template can create a feeling of urgency in their customers, leading to immediate profit. Testing New Strategies Adding pop to your company’s marketing agenda is also a great way to test new approaches to customer relations. A simple A/B test using two different pop-up ads will help you understand what works better regarding relationships with your potential leads. With minimal financial investments, such a simple test will bring more benefits than you can imagine. Great Options for Customization Pop-ups come in a wide variety of types and modifications, which means that your marketing team can adjust them according to your current needs. With proper implementation, a pop-up ad can become a great addition to any internal process. Scaling Opportunities Let’s not underestimate the good old “out of mouth” marketin...

Running free trials as an upsell strategy for your product? Here's 10 learnings you probably didn't know (I didn't!) based on 590 SaaS companies: 1- How long should your free trial be? 7 days. Free trial conversion rate doesn't change if it is 7 days or 30 days. The longer the time they have to decide not to use it, the less they will convert. Controversially, if someone just starts to use your product, that's where they're 'very hot and engaged' to fully upgrade. My experience: We did 1 month and most of the users almost forgot about their free trial. 2- What type of free trial should I run? Time-based free trial. Time-based free trials are the most common - and also has the best conversion to paid version (12% CR%). Usage is slightly below (10%) and gets sexier nowadays especially with AI capabilities. Seats or feature-based trials have very poor conversion rate due to their nature by default. My experience: Time-based is good in general, usage is better if the AHA moment is unique and unmatched. 3- Should I do pure PLG or have a sales team attached to it? Yes - if your ACV can afford it! The sales-assisted conversion rate is 4x better than the one of the unassisted one (15% vs. 4%). The question is: Can you afford it? Is your ACV big enough to add another sales cost layer? If you can, go for it! Usually, $10-15k ACV is the rule of thumb. Below won't make sense financially. My experience: It depends on where you're selling and your COGS. Reaching profitability is tough when you start adding salespeople. 4- What are the benchmark for converting trials? 4% for unassisted trials. 15.5% for sales-assisted trials. My experience: 1 deal out of 50 was self-upgraded for a 2k ACV. It will highly depend on the industry you evolve in. 5- Does activity scoring (product feature usage, etc) help converting more? No. Using the data during the free trial is bad because it won't matter much for SMBs. However, for midmarket & enterprise, the more up market you go, the buyer and the users will be different. Low product usage won't mean you can't upsell. That's why it's bad - you will not focus on the right account as the data will tell you otherwise. 6- Should I ask for a credit card? It's difficult. Conversion rates spike up to 10% from 4% if you don't ask a credit card upfront. However, it will probably mean lesser people who signs up for the free trial. So just test on your own. My experience: We gave the free trial without credit card and it didn't help at all our conversion rate. How about you? What did you learn? #growth #product #sales #marketing Credits: This was a slide presented a few years ago on the topic of Free Trial by Tomasz Tunguz

Palantir stock is 🆙 Up 152% Year-to-Date (!) 📈 Trades at 34x ARR (!) and ⤴️ Is Growing New Customers +41% 🔥The Fire of the Fire in SaaS🔥 5 Interesting Learnings: #1. Growth Has Re-Accelerated tp 27%, from 13% a Year Ago Fueled by commercial and government contracts, and by AI-related demand in both, Palantir is seeing growth re-accelerate from 2023. Pretty impressive, in a time when almost everyone else that is public is seeing slowing growth. #2. Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) is a Year Old But Fueling $159m in Q2 Bookings Alone To some Cloud and SaaS leaders, AI is a table-stakes addition. But for Palantir, it’s a true accelerant. #3. Commercial (Non-Gov't and Defense) Customers Fueling Growth. Up From Almost None in 2020 to 295 Today. Palantir is closing big, big deals and its roots are in government and defense. When it IPO’d, commercial customers were a tiny bit of their business. Fast forward to today, they are closing 300 of them. And revenue is up +55%. This potential for a decade of growth at scale here helps justify the high revenue multiple Palantir trades at. #4. Closed 27 Deals Over $10,000,000 and 96 $1,000,000 Deals — Just Last Quarter Palantir is very enterprise. #5. Profitability Has Increased Even as Growth Has Reaccelerated Do you have to do it all today, at least once you are at scale? Grow AND be more efficient? Yes, you do. And Palantir has risen to the challenge. It's pretty impressive to do both.

After sending 100s (and very soon 1000s) of cold email campaigns, here is my checklist of top 16 learnings for you to be able to have over 2-5% reply rates with enhanced deliverability every time: ✅𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬: Buy 10-20 domains on Porkbun similar to your main domain. ✅𝐔𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐬 & 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬:: Create 2 users per domain (Ideally have equal no. of Microsoft Outlook and Google users for testing). ✅𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩: Add profile pictures, set up DNS records (DKIM, MX, SPF, DMARC, Verification), and custom tracking for all users. ✅𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Warm up all users on 100% reply rate with 25-40 warmup limit for at least 15 days. ✅𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬: Use Apollo.io & MillionVerifier (for verification) or ListKit for pre-verified leads (Segment/Enrich lead lists in Clay if possible). Focus more on relevance over personalization. ✅0 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐦 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬: Edit 3 targetted sequences per campaign in Smartlead (use their spam filter to ensure no spam words like ‘free’, ‘get’, ‘guarantee’, ‘sales’, or ‘profits’ are sent). ✅𝐍𝐨-𝐠𝐨𝐬: Avoid Links, images, attachments, complex HTML code, clickbait in subject lines, fancy signatures, and open rate tracking (2-5% reply rate implies 60%+ open rate) ✅𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐎𝐩𝐭-𝐨𝐮𝐭: Use an unsubscribe line instead of an unsubscribe link. ✅𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: Send test emails from each user and click “looks safe” to confirm emails land in the primary inbox. (Contact support if this happens often so they can run a diagnostic). ✅𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐞: Gradually increase volume and send an average of 500 to 1000+ emails daily at a bare minimum. ✅𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐭/𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫: Ensure what you’re selling is something people want (& what you’re giving for free is something they’d pay for). ✅ 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬: 25 emails/inbox, less than 3% bounce rate, every 500 leads should ideally yield a meeting and launch at least 1 campaign daily (with 2+ split tests). Aim for a 2% positive reply rate. ✅ 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: While you can get leads all day/night, ensure your inbox doesn't turn into a leaky bucket, using regular followups. ✅𝐈𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝: Ensure an inbound engine is running alongside your outbound engine to convert more leads to calls and calls to deals. Reaching out to people as an anonymous seller with a dormant profile (especially LinkedIn) doesn't work anymore. ✅ 𝐆𝐨 𝐎𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥: While cold email is great, it alone might not have the keys to the castle. Add LinkedIn outbound, Linkedin inbound, calls, SMS/Whatsapp, and preferably physical mail to the mix for maximizing the qualified pipeline. ✅ 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐊𝐈𝐒𝐒: just keep it simple silly (when it comes to testing, AI & tech stacks)! What else would you add to the above from your own cold emailing experience?

Simon Høiberg's Saas stages explained: 0-5 users: - Start by reaching out to your network. - Use emails or dm's to offer your MVP in exchange for feedback. - Use their feedback and make improvements 5-100 users: - Use referrals from your first satisfied users. - Offer them something to share your product with their network. This builds a community and some momentum. 100-500 users: - Scale by creating content. - Use social media, blogs, and videos to organically get users. - Post quality content. 500-1000 users: - Improve and expand your content strategy. - Reinvest revenue from your paying users to acquire new users. 1000+ users: - Look at paid ads to broaden your reach - Set up an affiliate program. - Decide to either reinvest or take some profit out of it
