【AI For Finance Solution Day】Explore the Potential Applications of AI in the Financial Services Industry Artificial Intelligence (#AI) is driving the FinTech future!  The "AI For Finance Solution Day" organised by Cyberport, with the FinTech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK) as a strategic partner, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers as supporting organisations, has been successfully concluded yesterday (18 Mar)! The event connected the AI industry elites, financial experts, together with 10 AI solution companies, including Cyberport community and Cyberport Technology Network (CTN) start-ups to explore the solutions and potential applications of innovative AI technologies in local banking and insurance industry through keynote speech, panel discussions, use cases demonstration and sharing. Key areas of focus included risk management, anti-fraud, customer services, Generative AI applications security, and more.     In the event, Ir Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport delivered the opening remarks emphasising Cyberport's role to collaborate with the government industry, academia, R&D, investment and application sectors to encourage start-ups to explore FinTech innovation and drive the development of Hong Kong's financial industry. Through frontier research and real-world application, we aim to develop AI as a core industry and empower traditional industries in their intelligent upgrading and digital transformation. Ms Sophia Jin, Solution Architect of BytePlus, shared her insights on “Transforming Finance: Leveraging Deepseek & Doubao for Innovation and Efficiency”. The panel "AI Adoption Opportunities and Challenges", moderated by Mr John Chiu, Senior Manager of Banking Supervision of HKMA, explored the applications and challenges of AI in the banking industry. Following that, the "GenAI Use Cases in the Insurance Industry", moderated by Mr Jovan Trajceski, Co-Chair of A.I. & Big Data Committee of FTAHK, dissected the applications of AI in the insurance sector. Mr Victor Yim, Head of Fintech of Cyberport moderated a "Fireside Chat – Insights from the AI Action Summit" discussing ethical risk issues related to AI. 【HYAB Youth Start-up Internship Programme 2025】Orientation Day Successfully Held The "HYAB Youth Start-up Internship Programme 2025" (the Programme) jointly organised by Cyberport and the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, HKSAR Government (HYAB), recently held an orientation day at the Cyberport campus, attracting over 120 employers and interns. Representatives of the HYAB, and Mr Ricky Choi, Director of Smart Living of Cyberport, delivered speeches, encouraging students to seize internship opportunities in start-ups to lay a foundation for future development in the I&T industry.      Cyberport Incubation Programme Alumnus, Filix MedTech, participated in a panel sharing session, exchanging practical experiences and workplace collaboration along with other employers, interns, and alumni involved in the Programme. During the event, the fresh intake this year engaged in discussions with employers and received entrepreneurial guidance and tips, preparing for the upcoming "Creative Start-Up Pitching Competition". The event highlights the emerging workplace opportunities brought by artificial intelligence (#AI), and is co-organised with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) for the first time, aiming to open broader career paths for young people. Cyberport held a media briefing recently to announce details of the event. Among these, approximately 60% of the positions are related to AI application, and about 70% of employers are actively recruiting AI talent. 【Digital Transformation】Cyberport Supports the Digital Transformation in the Social Welfare Sector Cyberport is committed to promoting the development of innovation and technology (I&T) in Hong Kong, accelerating the implementation of digital transformation in both public and private sectors. Cyberport and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) 香港社會服務聯會 (社聯) were invited to participate in a workshop earlier to enable 50 middle level managers from Hong Kong Christian Service (Hong Kong Christian Service) to understand the new opportunities of digital transformation in the social welfare sector, and to equip them to become digital transformation leaders for their operating models. Mr Ricky Choi, Director of Smart Living of Cyberport, shared trends and applications in HealthTech and GeronTech development. 【GeronTech Exchange】Cyberport Collaborates with 18 Community Members to Promote GeronTech Applications Cyberport, together with Bamboos Health Care Holdings, a member of Cyberport Enterprise Network (CEN), co-organised the "Cyberport x Bamboos Active Ageing GeronTech Exchange" for the first time, which was successfully held at the Cyberport campus recently. The event attracted over 150 participants. Dr Rocky Cheng, CEO of Cyberport, delivered a welcoming speech, sharing the latest local developments of GeronTech and HealthTech. Subsequently, the three Cyberport community members, PharmCare 醫藥通 , AT-VIBE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED and AusMed Global, shared technology trends on topics such as community pharmacy , home-based elderly care and digital weight management with other speakers. Among them, Cyberport start-up enterprise AT-vibe mentioned combining AI, big data, and IoT technologies to design innovative smart monitoring systems. For example, real-time surveillance of accidents in the homes of the elderly, and immediate alerts to caregivers to strive for the golden rescue time, allowing many seniors to have a safe and privacy protected "age-friendly home". What’s more, 18 Cyberport community members set up booths at the venue for attendees to experience various I&T applications. The event also included free public health talks, various health assessments, and vaccination to promote a healthy lifestyle.
