About us

DFI Retail Group (the ‘Group’) is a leading Asian retailer. At 30th June 2024, the Group and its associates and joint ventures operated some 11,000 outlets and employed some 200,000 people. The Group had total annual revenue in 2023 exceeding US$26 billion. The Group provides quality and value to Asian consumers by offering leading brands, a compelling retail experience and great service; all delivered through a strong store network supported by efficient supply chains. The Group (including associates and joint ventures) operates under a number of well-known brands across food, convenience, health and beauty, home furnishings, restaurants and other retailing. The Group’s parent company, DFI Retail Group Holdings Limited, is incorporated in Bermuda and has a primary listing in the equity shares (transition) category of the London Stock Exchange, with secondary listings in Bermuda and Singapore. The Group’s businesses are managed from Hong Kong by DFI Retail Group Management Services Limited through its regional offices. DFI Retail Group is a member of the Jardine Matheson Group.

    Congratulations to our DFI People & Culture team for their outstanding achievements in the recent HR Excellence Awards 2024/25 organised by the [HKIHRM] Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management.   DFI, Mannings and IKEA Hong Kong together brought home eight awards. The Group won the Professional Practice Award for the Grand Award category in Diversity & Inclusion, which demonstrated our commitment to putting diversity and inclusion initiatives at the heart of our business and people practices. The group also received the Excellent Award for Disability-Friendly Employment and the Merit Award for Age-Friendly Workplace.   Shoutout to the Mannings team where their efforts in employee benefits and family-friendly practices have been recognised through their PharmaCare Programme, winning them the Excellent Award for Employee Benefits and the Elite Award for Family-Friendly Practices.   Additionally, our dedication to learning and development and cultivating a positive workplace culture have been celebrated with DFI and IKEA winning the Good Practice Award in Learning & Development, and IKEA won the Good Practice Award in Best Workplace.   These accolades reflect the team's effort and commitment to cultivating a diverse and engaging workplace for multi-generational team members.   • FY2024 Results: A Year of Resilience and Progress   At DFI, our Purpose – "Sustainably serve Asia for generations with everyday moments" –  remains at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to share our FY2024 results, which reflect significant progress in delivering value for our customers, people, and shareholders while strengthening the foundation for future growth.   2024 Key Highlights • Underlying profit grew by 30% year-on-year, reflecting a strong recovery and disciplined execution. • Health & Beauty delivered stable performance, while Convenience achieved double-digit profit growth, driven by innovation in Ready-to-Eat. • Food saw significant profit improvement, supported by a strong earnings recovery in Singapore. • Continued e-commerce growth, with a profitability turnaround as we expanded our omnichannel presence. • The ongoing expansion of yuu Rewards loyalty programme strengthened customer engagement and helped drive Retail Media momentum. • Achieved a net cash position following the successful completion of the Yonghui transaction.   Strategic Progress – We continued to execute our strategic framework of Customer First, People Led, Shareholder Driven:   • Optimised Own Brand strategy, delivering enhanced margins and improved sales productivity. • Strengthened omnichannel capabilities, meeting customers wherever they are with seamless digital and in-store experiences. • Launched Retail Media network, driving targeted marketing campaigns and encouraging sales momentum.   Sustainability Achievements – Our commitment to sustainability is core to our Purpose:   • Improved our S&P ESG score, placing us in the 84th percentile within the Food and Staples Retailing industry. • Made meaningful investments in environmentally friendly systems, including upgraded refrigeration technologies. • Launched impactful initiatives like the Low Carbon Rice Project in Thailand, supporting decarbonisation and local economies.   Looking to the Future – As we move forward into 2025, we are energised by the progress we have made and the opportunities ahead. Retail supermarket Giant has partnered with The Food Bank Singapore for the ‘Share Giant Blessings’ food drive, part of DFI’s ‘Better Together’ initiative. From 13 Feb – 30 Mar 2025, donate Halal food items at participating Giant stores to support over 1,000 underprivileged Muslim families this Ramadan and Hari Raya.   • Mannings Hong Kong is excited to launch the Bupa x Mannings PharmaCare Programme with Bupa in Hong Kong. It marks the first-ever partnership between Mannings and an insurer to offer pharmacy consultations to Bupa members for minor ailments at over 60 Mannings pharmacy locations, making healthcare more accessible for Bupa members. This programme provides Bupa members with a convenient alternative to clinic visits for general health concerns. They can receive on-the-spot consultations from registered pharmacists at Mannings pharmacies by simply presenting their Bupa medical cards, and our pharmacists can give advice for managing minor ailments and dispense appropriate medications. As a community pharmacy, Mannings introduced the first-of-its-kind PharmaCare Programme to address the emerging healthcare needs in 2023.     Last week, we had the privilege of coming together for the DFI Annual Leadership Forum — an important event that united over 160 leaders from across our 23 banners and diverse markets under this year’s theme: “Stay Agile, Stay Ahead.”   This forum wasn’t just about reflecting on the achievements in 2024 — it was about aligning on how we continue building a better business, one that’s relentlessly focused on delivering everyday moments that matter to our customers. In today’s ever-changing retail landscape, agility is more than a strategy — it’s a mindset, and it’s how we’ll continue to lead and innovate in the years to come.   What stood out to me most during the forum was the collaboration, energy, and shared commitment across our leadership team.
