Just a thought RTL Design has few logics which is not required as per the design specifications, this portion of code gets excluded in code coverage analysis. By knowing this fact we still synthesis the logic and it increases the gate counts. but functionaly this logic has no use. Now can this be a area for AI based tool to discard that portion of logic during synthesis and we reduce the gate count?

It is that time of the year when many people write posts about their promotions but unfortunately I have no such exciting news to share :). But I did some exciting stuff in singing during the July 4th long weekend! Singing and performing live has been something that I have always enjoyed. But I always wanted to do some decent recording at home by myself but did not have the knowhow even though I had some of the equipments( maybe I lacked enough drive as well). But thanks to the LinkedIn Learning course "recording-sessions-in-pro-tools" by "Mikaelin Bluespruce" , that I came across recently , I finally managed to get a decent recording done at home, all by myself. My set up is a Shure SM58 mic + Focusrite 2i2 audio interface + Protools on my laptop. In this recording I have only used Reverb( D-Verb plugin ) + Delay( Mod Delay ) + Basic EQ. I have not tried Punching-in etc, i.e recording in pieces, so I ended up doing a full take each time. There is lots to learn but  I Just wanted to write a post here thanking Mikaelin 'Blue' BlueSpruce for the wonderful Course and also share my excitment of having finally created something that I wanted to since sometime. ( I took a screenshot of my Protools session so that I could add that pic here but I am unable to. I can either have the Pic or the Youtube link Thumbnail!! ). The song is from a Bollywood movie that released around 2 or 3 years ago. "Shukriya" means "Thank You" for people who don't know Hindi. The song expresses Gratitude for everything that life has given us. At a very low level, the song is a journey from "Material life" where we experience beauty, love, nature, life itself , joy of birth and sorrow of death etc to "Spirituality" where there is nothing else but the supreme power, the almighty. A newspaper clipping that brings back memories of Texas Instruments Educators' Conference held in 2013 at Nimhans Convention Center. The highlight of the conference was the exhibition of projects which were carried out by students across India, who had enrolled in the TI Analog Design Contest. After a modest beginning with ten institutions and 20 projects, year after year, we saw the number of submissions growing at a rate higher than Moore's law! Executing the contest was a massive effort. It included distribution of electronic components to the participants, receiving periodic updates on the progress of the projects, finding help for students who were facing difficulties, arranging the exhibition, having the contests judged and declaring the prizes in the Educators' Conference. We tried some interesting ideas in the 2013 conference. As part of the inauguration, we invited students of IISc who worked with Prof Jamadagni to enact small technoskits to bring out the innovation in the projects. Back in 2013, when IoT was still a new idea, a project was carried out by Prof Jamadagni's students, based on the idea of the Infinite Coffee Cup by Gene Frantz. This project was demo-enacted on the stage. The infinite coffee cup has built in electronics to sense when the cup is empty and signals to the waiter for a refill. The conference also had paper presentation sessions where the demoed projects were presented as papers . We brought out the conference proceedings as a book which published by Chitkara University thanks to help from Prof Rajnish Sharma. We had invited Prof Dhananjay Gadre to make a special inaugural lamp for the inauguration. Steve Lyle and Brad Ruziska from TI Dallas and Bobby Mitra and Sanjay Bhan from TI India inaugurated the conference by lighting an electronic lamp with a remote controller. Prof Gadre went on to create multiple versions of the inaugural lamp with more technology integration. My former colleagues Sagar Juneja and Vaibhav Agarwal were helping me in organising the conference. My former colleague Narahari helped in getting press coverage for the conference. My Last Day at Synopsys - after 17 Years being together! Wishing you a Very Happy New Year 2025! After an excellent and successful tenure with Synopsys for 17 years, it is time to part my ways. I started my Journey at Synopsys as an Application Engineer I in Jan 2008 and in Jan 2025 I am leaving Synopsys as a Sr. Director It was a journey fueled with Learnings, Innovation, Initiatives, opportunities, technical leadership, people management, account management, collaborations(internal/external), agility, travelling, hiring, MBOs, Business Goals, Decision Making, Broader Perspective, Team Building, Presentation, Driving Programs, Structured communication/execution and many more, but at the same time going beyond to: stretching over weekends, customer focus, Technical excellence, work life balance, bold decisions, adapt on changing needs, drive most challenging/critical requirements, day/night calls and many more.. It has been a rewarding journey not only from monetization perspective but also it is a journey which has shaped me who I am today! It has been a journey where I got to play different responsibilities: Application Engineer, R&D Engineer, APAC Product lead, Develop/Drive Horizontal (Engagement) Team, Vertical Account ownership and many stories that made me earn the role as a Sr. Director! As I look back It is a journey filled with Innovation in the Synthesis/P&R domain of Chip Design and Leadership roles - I have taken daring decisions to do somethings OOTB and believe that will drive success which lead to : Success, Business Growth, Innovation, visibility, trust within the team both upper/lower levels you work for, becoming the goto person, getting the most complex problem/situations to tackle,… I have learnt over time that working on processes can help productivity and been a big advocator/implementer of the same I have learnt and advocated as Engineers we need to Engineer looking beyond just tasks that one is assigned and that is where initiatives comes which is the core to drive innovation, we need to constantly learn, evolve and differentiate I have learnt to collaborate with multiple teams which actually is a great way to manage collectively to reach to common goals faster and effectively I have learnt that each individual have its own strengths but as a leader it is important to bring ones strengths and provide the right opportunity - By doing so as a unit you see that you have happy and bright minds demonstrating nothing less than excellence I am grateful to Synopsys for all the opportunity it has provided to me and the trust the leaders/people at Synopsys has shared with me! Class B amplifiers are sometimes OK for RF but not audio. Why? 👇🏽 Class B amplifiers provide a highly distorted output signal, but with good amplification efficiency. For many RF applications, it is okay to distort the carrier signal as long as the modulation is not affected. The baseband information can still be retrieved. Class B won't work for audio. It is a complex time-varying signal which needs to be accurately amplified. To still get Class B efficiencies, the push-pull amplifier was invented. It is a differential version of a Class B amplifier that can produce amplification with good efficiency. 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑺𝑻𝑴32 𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒃𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅 ?  I have a range of evaluation boards from all well known semiconductor companies including NxP , ST, Nuvoton, TI , Microchip, Broadcom, Nordic, NVIDIA etc. That was part of my investment. I got loaner boards from ST, NxP and Nuvoton. I used following parameters to decide evaluation board : 1: 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 I have used ST devices around 1998 as well. 2: 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙢𝙖𝙥 : They have a range of products in various domains 3: 𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙩: It is most important factor and their boards are available in Arduino range as well. 4: 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 : They have a variety of tools for Pin multiplexing, Flash programming, Debugging and even for AI. 5: 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 :  I never had issue in contacting ST Marketing , Development , FAE and distributor FAEs . In fact , now my student is also supporting ST devices in India. I was invited for a combined session with faculty as well. 6: 𝙅𝙤𝙗 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 : Since STM32 is based on ARM and being widely used in India. It increases your possibility to get job. Here is outcome of my experience with ST device. This week was little bit interesting in embedded system live sessions. 1: Enabled one US based student in the STM32 evaluation board which I never used. It was done in live session. We supported multiple devices in past but it was instant support over live session. 2: Yesterday also another US based student shared board over camera. We started with default HAL project to do sanity check. First surprise was warning " Obsolete board" . We ignored and continued . Next surprise was "Insufficient flash memory" even with default configuration. This was because it had enabled all peripherals. I asked student to put while(1); in the beginning. Linker was kind enough to discard all other code and we could reach at main() at least. This was simple but important for student to move ahead. Both above students are working professionals in US and joined Embedkari for a refresh cycle. For joining Embedkari, no shubh muhurt is required because every moment is part of God's creation 😀 ... the capacitor makes this circuit a low pass filter, as the author suggested the then reduces noise but even if one doesn't necessarily need a low pass filter, it improves phase margin of the feedback configuration (or is high pass in feedback) - very useful for marginally stable designs

#Indian #PC Market Grew 7.1% YoY with 3.39 Million Units Shipped in 2Q2024, says IDC 💡 India’s traditional PC market (inclusive of #desktops, #notebooks, and #workstations) shipped 3.39 million units in 2Q2024, up 7.1% year-over-year (YoY), according to recent #data from the International Data Corporation  (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Personal #Computing Device Tracker. All 3 categories - desktop, notebook, and workstation - grew by 5.9% YoY, 7.4% YoY and 12.4% YoY respectively. In 2Q2024, the consumer segment surged by 11.2% YoY as both online and offline channels saw good demand. The e-tail channel grew by a healthy 22.4% YoY. The commercial segment grew by 3.5% YoY fueled by an increased demand in the SMB and LB segments which grew by 12.4% YoY and 33.1% YoY, respectively. “This is the fourth consecutive quarter of YoY growth for the consumer segment,” said bharath shenoy, Research Manager, IDC India & South Asia. “Vendors kickstarted the back-to-school/ college campaigns, and good demand was seen in the e-tail channel as well during online sales.
