ONLINE BOOKING FOR MEDICAL CENTERS ---- Back in Russia, it was a must. You don't have online booking - patients will go to a clinic that has it. Period. Here in Israel Health IT and service level in medical centers is way less advanced (but the doctors are way better 😁), but it's gonna change. And we are working on that=) All clinics using our solution have online booking, and, hopefully, the number of them will increase. We've been doing online booking for over 10 years, and yes, we know A LOT about it. Online booking helps you: 1. Increase site conversion level up to 2x 2. Increase the level of patient's service 3. Ants vs. Humans Are you a team player or prefer working solo? Prof. Ofer Feinerman and his team at the Weizmann Institute of Science, conducted research to understand how ants and humans, two highly social creatures, work together in groups. Participants were given a large T-shaped object that they had to maneuver across a rectangular space divided into three chambers connected by two narrow slits. The ants tackled the maze challenge in three combinations: a single ant, a small group of about seven ants and a large group of about 80. Humans handled the task in three parallel combinations: a single person, a small group of six to nine individuals and a large group of 26. Israeli tech is at a crossroads On the one hand, we see a surge in tech, particularly with AI. On the other hand, we're dealing with a decrease in economic activity and a potential shift in the job market While it's true that the current situation in the country has led to a decrease in economic activity, we must also consider the impact of AI on the job market. Companies may be using the current economic climate as a cover to transition to AI-driven operations, a move that isn't typically popular… The rapid development of AI, such as OpenAI's GPT-3, suggests that we may see a big shift in the job market sooner than anticipated. While this is great for efficiency, it also raises concerns about job security, and the future of jobs Furthermore, the job market, especially in the tech sector, is becoming increasingly competitive There are fewer jobs than there are people looking for work. This issue is particularly pronounced in the Haredi community, where job opportunities are even scarcer. The community faces additional challenges, including bias and a lack of experience. Most training programs today don't offer job experience or placement, leaving individuals to navigate the job market on their own Given these circumstances, #entrepreneurship emerges as a viable path… knowing how to run a business and possessing skills that can't be easily replicated by AI can be a real advantage Along with those challenges, another major question is… is Israel a conducive environment for setting up a business?   The Israeli government's stance towards businesses, particularly #startups, plays a big role in shaping the country's economic landscape. High taxes and stringent regulations can deter entrepreneurs, pushing them to relocate their businesses to countries like the US This trend is worrying… as startups and new businesses are the key drivers of economic growth. A decrease in the number of companies not only reduces job opportunities but also hampers growth The government's role in fostering a supportive environment for businesses cannot be overstated Initiatives to ease regulations, provide tax cuts, and offer support can significantly enhance the business landscape, encouraging entrepreneurs to establish and grow their businesses in Israel While it's true that thriving businesses may not always equate to more jobs, particularly because of #AI, they do contribute to economic growth. The profits generated by these businesses can be reinvested into the economy, catalyzing further growth The next few years in this country are about striking a balance between embracing tech, entrepreneurship, and ensuring job security, as well as creating an environment conducive for building businesses What are your thoughts on this? Yesterday, June 17, 2024: The Israeli Center for Quantum Computing - @IQCC - was launched Significant progress in the field of quantum computing in Israel: The Israeli Center for Quantum Computing (IQCC), a research facility that aligns with similar centers in the world, opened yesterday (Monday) with the aim of making quantum computing capabilities accessible to researchers and research and development centers in the country. The center will include three quantum computers and was established and managed by the Israeli company Quantum Machines, which provides control and control systems for quantum computers. This is a world-class research facility that will include three quantum computers and serve the quantum computing community as well as academic research institutes and R&D centers of advanced industries in Israel and around the world. The center was built with a total investment of 100 million Nis. The QM - Quantum Machines company clarified that this is a special center that will provide access to the cloud, in order to provide users with remote access to the computing environment. In addition, the center will offer an advanced testbed equipped of its kind in the world, which will assist in the development of new quantum computing technologies. The company states that the highlight of the innovative facility is the deployment of a unified system for classical quantum computing, which was developed by Quantum Machines and NVIDIA . The system is tightly integrated with a supercomputing cluster consisting of NVIDIA GPU processors, and ARM and AMD processors, all connected to AWS cloud platforms allowing remote access and leveraging additional cloud computing resources. Dr. Itamar Sion, co-founder and CEO of QM: "When we thought about what would move quantum computing forward, we realized that the means was to build the most advanced facility in terms of operational capability, modularity and integration with HPC and with the cloud. Our open architecture approach will ensure that it will be possible to upgrade and expand the The facility continuously to stay at the forefront of technology, which will make it an accelerator of the entire ecosystem in Israel and the world." The global quantum computing market estimate for 2022 was $13.67 billion and is expected to reach a value of $143.44 billion with a compound annual growth rate of 26.5% in 2032. Apart from China, Israel is the country that invests, on average, the largest percentage of the gross domestic product - GDP ( 0.082%) in quantum computing issues.

Identifai Genetics has developed a non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) technology to identify hundreds of hereditary genetic disorders from a maternal blood sample. The breakthrough builds on the research of Noam Shomron and Tom Rabinowitz of Tel Aviv University, leading experts in genetics and bioinformatics. The company’s approach, led by Eyal Miller MBA, MA, isolates fetal DNA from maternal DNA in blood samples and uses artificial intelligence to conduct full genetic sequencing from as early as nine weeks of pregnancy. This marks a significant expansion of current NIPT capabilities. To date, IdentifAI has raised $6.5 million from eHealthVentures specializing in healthtech investments, Shizim Group Fund, and additional investors, along with grants from the #IsraelInnovationAuthority.

NSO Group, which makes Pegasus spyware, keeps trying to extract information from Citizen Lab researchers — and a judge keeps swatting it down. researchers at Citizen Lab have monitored Israeli spyware firm NSO Group and its banner product, Pegasus. In 2019, Citizen Lab reported finding dozens of cases in which Pegasus was used to target the phones of journalists and human rights defenders via a WhatsApp security vulnerability. Now NSO, which is blacklisted by the U.S. government for selling spyware to repressive regimes, is trying to use a lawsuit over the WhatsApp exploit to learn “how Citizen Lab conducted its analysis.” The lawsuit, filed in U.S. federal court in 2019 by WhatsApp and Meta (then Facebook), alleges that NSO sent Pegasus and other malware to approximately 1,400 devices across the globe. For more than four years, NSO has failed repeatedly to get the case thrown out. With the lawsuit now moving forward, NSO is trying a different tactic: demanding repeatedly that Citizen Lab, which is based in Canada, hand over every single document about its Pegasus investigation. A judge denied NSO’s latest attempt to get access to Citizen Lab’s materials last week.

Very interesting report of Israel's AI ecosystem by F2 Venture Capital, Google Cloud and Deloitte. 🔍 On a high level: - The AI startup ecosystem in Israel is booming, with over 2,150 active AI companies, representing ~30% of the local tech sector. - Startups leveraging AI attracted over 60% of all capital raised in 2023. - The country ranks 3rd globally in private AI investment, demonstrating its strong position in the global AI market. 💡 Key takeaways from the report: - Vertical AI is a stronghold. It attracts the largest share of private funding, with Life Sciences, Healthcare and Fintech (banking, financial services and insuretech) leading the charge. Israel's deep domain expertise in these sectors positions it as a potential global leader. - Autonomous Enterprise (Horizontal AI) shows promise. Cybersecurity is a particular strength, capturing 56% of the segment's funding However, the development of multi-modal, end-to-end solutions and AI agents presents further opportunities for cross-industry applications. - AI & Data Ops is a key area for growth. Israel's strong talent pool and focus on enhancing existing infrastructure make it well-suited to address the growing demand for cloud-based AI Ops platforms and efficient data management solutions.
