Continuing from my last post, here’s how we’re integrating smart lighting for better user interaction... The Role of Light in Medical Devices: Enhancing UX Through Visual Feedback While working on our device’s design, I observed a common trend in medical environments—blue lighting. I believe this choice isn’t just aesthetic but also functional. Blue is often associated with calmness, clarity, and precision, making it a natural fit for sterile, white hospital environments. It contrasts well, ensuring visibility without feeling harsh. Beyond aesthetics, lighting plays a crucial role in user interaction. Inspired by Don Norman’s principles of discoverability and feedback, we integrated dynamic lighting patterns to enhance usability: 🔹 Motion Indicators – Subtle blinking to signal upcoming movements. 🔴 Warnings & Alerts – Red light or rapid blinking to grab attention. 🔄 Progress Feedback – Circular loading animations for ongoing actions. This fusion of design and technology ensures a more intuitive experience, helping users anticipate and respond to the device's actions effortlessly. Would love to hear your thoughts— if you have any insights or suggestions that could enhance this further, feel free to share! 🚀 . . . . #MedicalDesign #UXDesign #HumanCenteredDesign #DesignAndTechnology #ProductDesign #UserExperience #MedicalDevices #InteractionDesign #DonNorman #DesignThinking #HealthcareInnovation #HMI #LEDIndicators #SmartDevices #TechForGood
