CapEx spends go over 10% of a company’s revenue—largely for expansion, new business, and sustaining current operations. However, finding technically qualified vendors offering quality output, agreeable pricing, and timely delivery remains a laborious and testing process. Before starting Venwiz, I realized why this process needs to be objective but lacks the means to enable that. Subjective choices are prone to biases, ignorance, and relationships interfering with what should be a transparent and rigorous process for high-spend items. Our goal has always been to eliminate these inefficiencies. Not having an objective vendor selection process can: - Increase project costs unexpectedly - Delay project timelines, causing frustration - Compromise project or end product quality - Cause reputational damage But given information asymmetry and time pressure, it isn't easy to stay 100% objective in ranking vendors. By incorporating empirical data, defining parameters based on first principles—like vetting past experience on similar projects—and utilizing technology, we at Venwiz narrow down the most suitable vendors from an otherwise large universe, close to real-time. #byju's is cut off from telecom and cloud services. Service providers such as AWS and Vodafone idea have suspended their service due to BYJU's unpaid dues. 1. Byju has not paid AWS for the last 2 months. 2. Let's talk about quick deliveries today like Instacart, Blinkit, instamart, Dunzo, Zepto and others. Pros: - You get your essentials in 10 minutes. (that's what they claim but only 5-10% of the time, it's delivered with-in claimed 10 minutes) Cons: - We end up wasting more time than saving time (we started using these apps to save time but that never happened) - You end up spending more than double/triple amount than actually required on essentials because their marketing team is running have some or other offer/discount everyday - You end-up ordering junks more than essentials because you are on their app on daily basis - Social Isolation: Relying heavily on delivery services can lead to decreased social interactions and potential long-term social isolation. - Slowly, your life becomes an unplanned mess. - Making delivery partners anxious, always - Putting delivery partners & others lives on risk who all are on road - Environmental Impact: The increased use of delivery vehicles contributes to pollution and delivery often generates unnecessary packaging waste, adding to the environmental concerns. What we do(for more than a years now): - We order our monthly groceries using Dmart at starting of the month (takes 30 minutes every month) (grocery prices, delivery time & delivery charges are reasonable as compared to any other platform, mall or local shops) - Fruits and dry vegetables on weekly basis from local market (takes 30-45 minutes every week) - Green vegetables once or twice a week (no extra effort) Planning is essential part of our lives and in my opinion we should at least plan for essentials(groceries, fruits & vegetables). Though it's completely YOUR choice. How things change ⌚ In 2018, 10-year-old Zomato’s valuation was $1.1 billion, and 4-year-old Swiggy’s was $3.3 billion. Fast forward to 2024, Zomato has a $30 billion market cap. And Swiggy plans to IPO at less than half of Zomato's valuation at $12-15 billion.

When we started in 2020, new hires would often say, “Just tell me about the cash component; I don't understand ESOPs.” But in the past 3 years, as employees have watched their friends make life-changing money from ESOPs, priorities have changed. Today, the conversation is different: “Cash is good, but tell me—what could my ESOPs be worth?” We are going to see a huge inflow of very high quality talent into the startup ecosystem!

If you ask reasons for distress sale like #2 above people will say everyone is going back to physical classrooms. But both are under stress so what's the real reason? Very simple - It's economy stu*pid!! People do engineering to get lucrative jobs but job market is slowing down for a while. Freshers' hiring has gone down drastically. Salaries are under stress. Engineering graduates in US are not able to find jobs easily and moving back with parents. Indian students are returning back to India. "A recent media report based on Right to Information (RTI) applications from IIT Kanpur revealed that around 8,000 IIT graduates across 23 campuses were unplaced in 2024" If IIT graduates are finding it hard so you can imagine. It's slowing economy in US and in other countries which is putting pressure on the job market hence parents are not encouraging their wards to run behind engineering degree. The good thing - there are alternative career options available and hopefully some will be able to follow their passion 😀. Zestmoney closed down its operations!! 😯 A company that was valued around 440M $ at some point is now out of operations. All of the co-founders exited few months after a merger deal with PhonePe could not happen before the grand mishap(which was definitely apparent to them). Clearly consumer loans market is very flammable in India. Surprisingly, company got much higher valuation because of claimed focus on utilization of AI ML and other KPIs. There were definitely many key players in the downfall of zestmoney like unsecured loan defaults, regulatory challenges, RBI's increased capital requirement ratios etc.

This is 20% hike from previously ₹5 charged.
