There is lot of discussion going on regarding fraud in #SME #IPO space. RAHUL SAWHNEY launched IPO for its Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. dealership for Rs 12 crore then people start questioning due to small size but no one question when Landmark Cars launched IPO for its dealership of Mercedes-Benz India Honda Jeep India BYD Renault Volkswagen Ashok Leyland for Rs 550 crore even it listed at discount and former listed in premium even after negative publicity. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) under Madhabi Puri Buch has implemented stricter regulations for SME IPO listings and plan to increase the minimum investment—measures that seem counterproductive. For instance, Ola Electric raised more than the entire SME IPO segment, even while posting losses, yet the scrutiny remains lower. This raises a troubling question: Is it acceptable for large players to access funding while smaller players are discouraged? Ministry of the Finance, Cabinet of the Minister under Nirmala Sitharaman and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India should add three small steps to help SME entrepreneurs to get funding and safeguard small investors of Bombay Stock Exchange Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE India). 1) Mandate QIB (Qualified Institutional Buyers) participation in SME IPOs: This will enhance corporate governance, boost investor confidence, and reduce the risk of manipulation and fraud. 2) Fix HNI allotments: Reducing the subscription pressure by ensuring that HNI applicants who invest in two lots (less than ₹3 lakh) are also getting allotments. This will create a level playing field, as currently, only large investors benefit in the HNI category. Investors who subscribed more than Rs 5 crore are getting two lots. 3) Remove the lot size requirement: Presently, high lot sizes (over ₹1 lakh) limit liquidity. Eliminating this requirement would allow greater participation in price discovery. SEBI’s plans to increase the lot size to ₹5 lakh could lead to more speculative activity, increasing risks for investors. These are low-hanging reforms already implemented in the Main Exchange and could help level the playing field for both large and small players. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) must address why banks are allowed to sell 79% of IPO allotments within a week while retail investors doing the same are seen as gamblers. A thriving economy requires both large and small companies to flourish, and retail investors deserve the same respect and opportunities. Casestudy: An auto SaaS startup, that provides inventory management and AI-powered customer engagement tools to car dealerships. Despite having a cutting-edge product, they were struggling to gain traction in the market. Their go-to-market strategy was overly complex, and their sales team was fragmented, resulting in slow sales cycles and low conversion. The Challenge: They approached me to streamline their GTM strategy and optimize their sales process. Their core problems included: Complex GTM Messaging: The product's value proposition was convoluted, making it difficult for dealers to quickly understand the benefits. Inefficient Sales Team: Sales reps were unfocused, not prioritizing high-value clients, and lacked the training to sell effectively to large dealers. Low Conversions: Long sales cycles with limited success in closing deals due to unclear positioning and disjointed communication. The Solution: Simplifying the GTM Strategy: We restructured and distilled their message into one clear, customer-centric statement: "Reduce your inventory costs and engage buyers automatically." This simplified the narrative, shifting the focus from the product’s technical details to the tangible outcomes for dealerships—reduced costs and higher sales efficiency. Retrain Sales Team: The sales team was retrained on the new messaging framework, emphasizing pain points like excess inventory costs and missed engagement opportunities. We introduced a new prioritization system, focusing on larger dealer groups and high-potential markets. Additionally, I implemented a strict qualification process, ensuring reps were spending time only on prospects that fit the ideal customer profile (ICP). Reps were trained to focus on shorter, more impactful conversations, highlighting exclusivity, cost-savings, and market differentiation. Introducing Metrics-Driven Sales: Each sales team member was coached on setting clear, measurable goals. Weekly performance was tied to specific KPIs like calls made, demos scheduled, and deals closed, using a data-driven approach to refine the process. Results: Within 3 months of implementing the new GTM strategy and sales playbook: the average sales cycle shortened by 30%, allowing the team to close deals faster. Increased Conversion Rates: 30% to 52%, as dealerships better understood the value proposition and the sales process became more targeted. Higher Revenue: Monthly recurring revenue (MRR) increased by 50%, driven by both closing more and larger deals. Conclusion: By refining GTM strategy and revamping their sales process, we achieved rapid growth and better market positioning. The transformation positioned them as a go-to solution for dealers looking to cut costs and improve customer engagement, proving the power of a well-executed strategy in scaling a SaaS business.

#AutoNewsIndia 1) The Motown Shift: The Indian car market is maturing from the mass market car consumer to premium car consumers. the sub-10 car segment- traditionally called volume driver, is seeing a fall in sales by nearly 3-4%. Plus, 4/5th of the car vehicle sales are in the 8-12 lakh range. With the change in market preferences, manufacturing companies would have to straddle between mass-market cars and premium cars. Mahindra has shown a growth of 2% in the market share with premium products like Thar Roxx and XUV 700. Now car manufacturers have two strategies: either focus on the 8 Lakh and below mass market spot or move upwards and chase the premium segment with higher margins. 2) Hybrid & CNG Lead On EVs: CNG car sales rose 33%, while plug-in hybrid sales saw an increase of 20%, while EVs only showed a growth of 9% both of these technologies outpacing EVs in the first 10 months of 2024. Customers are not ready to show commitments to go fully electric but are showing a partial shift by buying Plug-In hybrids. Indian buyers are seen to be preferring convenience, cost-effectiveness and practicality over sustainability. As broken electric infrastructure and range anxiety are the major reasons people not shifting towards EVs.

We now live in a world where every device is a television TV is just another name for video based on the device. Earlier the device was the sole portal. Now , video is available across screens and devices. The world of schedule and appointment viewing has withered away except in sports. Couch potatoes are yielding to active hunters. As, Video is TV And since , Digital is now video Hence, TV is digital And indeed, Digital is TV Frankly , video is managing the transition way better than print or music. Reality is that all video will be via streaming. But Ad free, subscriber paid content is also a utopia. The OTT platforms see this. The model can’t be viable catering to a niche. Hence the challenge is not for TV to become say, a Netflix but for Netflix to become more of TV. Eventually the world will see a 50:50 split between subscriptions and advertising. Of the $ 1 trillion revenue global advertising last year, fully $ 700 billion is digital. The picture is quite clear ! The picture is quite clear !
