Zomato is making a significant move with its latest acquisition of Paytm’s movies and ticketing business, valued at Rs 2,048 crore (approximately $244 million). This acquisition, which includes Orbgen Technologies (TicketNew) and Wasteland Entertainment (Insider), marks Zomato's first major deal since their acquisition of Blinkit in June 2022. The ticketing business, which reported revenues of Rs 297 crore and an adjusted EBITDA of Rs 29 crore in FY24, will continue to operate on the Paytm app for up to 12 months during the transition period.
